• Highlighting our Academics
I love this. As a non-athlete it was really fun seeing the players in classes, studying hard, or involved in student clubs like the rest of us. Not sure what they do at J Street Tech, but we clearly do it right.
  • Lumberjack football to get the ax?
I like that the Aggies are just the Aggies. No Lady Aggies or Lady Dons here. I do think PC can get out of hand, but if all students are Aggies, then just call them the Aggies. Fans can figure out the difference.
  • Lumberjack football to get the ax?
Public schools and yessss, I'd take Gonzaga, Whitman, or Walla Walla before Central absolutely and probably before any other school except UW. SPU too. Just comparing the main public schools in the eyes of Washingtonian popular opinion and oh I totally forgot Eastern. I'd probably rank them somewhere in the middle too. Haha.
  • Lumberjack football to get the ax?
As someone currently living in WA, I can tell you that you are correct about W. Washington. Western is a good school, but it doesn't have athletics vibe. Central is a DII powerhouse, who isn't held in as much high esteem academically. I get the feeling among Washingtonians that the academic rankings are:
    1. UW of course
    2. WSU (in majors similar to ours like Ag)
    3. Western (for Social Science / Biz)
    4. Central

Western is a more liberal arts centered UC Davis.

Also didn't we lose to HSU five or 6 seasons ago?
  • Week 2: University of San Diego @ UC Davis
PSU is dangerously good. Them and Weber have a great shot at winning the conference.
  • UC Davis Footbal: Our Legacy - video
I love it. Who do you think did the voices for "Aggie Fight?" It seemed to be a male chorus and seemed to be older than college students...or is that just me being another yr older?
  • Montana signs sponsorship with Big Sky Brewing Co.
I'm a wine person (yes Mondavi is ours) and I don't drink beer, but I think our equivalent would be Sierra Nevada or Blue Moon. Both are highly respected and would draw attention to our school.
  • Missouri Valley/Big Sky Challenge
Haha thats seriously the funniest thing ever.
  • Interesting MLB coincidence (Ty Kelly)
Great find, GoAgs! What a crazy coincidence!
  • Missouri Valley/Big Sky Challenge
Yes, I remember that. It was so strange. On a similar but different note, when we lost to South Alabama, that was a really different experience. There were all the tailgaters and rabid fans you'd see at a game in the south.
  • Missouri Valley/Big Sky Challenge
and no more D-II or NAIA games please!

I went to a game vs Winston-Salem State like the week after they announced they weren't moving up to FCS. The Ags crushed them big time, though i don't remember the score.
  • Aggie Stadium questions
That would be fantastic! I'll check in with you when the game gets closer. Go Ags!
  • Aggie Stadium questions
TY GoAgs. Yeah, its a standard regulation school pack. Haha I will def keep that in mind :P. I remember Unitrans running a special line to and from Aggie Stadium, maybe? I'll be happy to walk, though with it being a 6pm kickoff, I'll be happy to get back to my hotel in downtown after the Ags win :).
  • Are sac state and UCSD coming to Big West?
Meanwhile Sac's problem is that they suck.
  • New Campus Dining Department
I never lived on campus. I was one of those rare upperclassmen who had meal plans all three years (I transferred in the time when no dorm housing was available to non-freshman). I made friends and meet-ups happen by swiping people into the DC in order to hangout and talk. A few times I swiped like 20-30 people into Segundo to get my friends to come with me to Aggie basketball games immediately after. It worked.
  • Out-of state UC student cap
UC Davis is doing just fine and has always been excellent, I remember when I started here 9 years ago, the % of Californians was far greater. I think UC Davis, esp with its near capitol location in the valley should continue to benefit our state first. We should not lose our best and brightest to out of state students brought in just so the regents can make a few quick bucks.

Will this have any effect on out of state scholarships?

  • Bright Future Ahead for the Aggie Women
Beautiful. Everyone needs to flood this info out there.
  • Baseball Field to Be Named After Phil Swimley
Here's the question. What is needed more: a clubhouse (to recruit good players) or lights to host big matchups or regionals?
