My apologies. I read your statement wrong. No, I am not part of your friend group. I thought you wrote that your friends are somehow connected to the USC athletic department.

I assure you that I am well connected to USC (I wish I could really tell you but it would blow my cover) and they are not talking about Sac St.

I am excited for our future especially if we go FBS. 4 and 5 star recruits are on the horizon!

The U$C game would have been sweet

I hate to say it but sometimes I feel that we are the only ones that really talk about Sac State. As a resident of Southern California that works with alums from big athletic/academic powerhouses they don’t even register these guys.

Whenever I mention I went to UC Davis I immediately get “that’s a good school”. I don’t think Sac State gets that. We are known primarily as an academic school who wants to bring our sports on par with that (although I do agree that some say we have already had enough success to merit that). I think of Cal Poly SLO more of a worthy rival than Sac State. If anything, I hope that in the event that Sac State becomes a highly attractive school and has success, that we no longer are associated with them.

When would we know definitively that they will not be FBS anytime soon?

Put some wine in there too since the school is pretty much in wine country! Some we have an on campus vineyard and winery! Since we are world renowned for it!

Don’t let purity poison fun. There has to be a balance. New uniforms that create jobs and perhaps drive more clicks to the Tahoe website is not bad. As a result of this marketing I now follow UC Davis Tahoe on Social Media.

Athletics never made our university “elite” or for that matter any other one. It’s totally supplementary. If by your metric Sac State is now “elite” then you should reassess your methodology.

I am used to loyalty to those that have stuck with us. I am not used to constant turnover. If someone new has success here, they will more likely leave ala Sac State. Look, if we can become a Duke or Bama (of old) sure, let’s do it. But if we become a Umass or a Kent State then no.
