My understanding was Hawk was offered the job by TT, and Hawk laid out his requirements - which may have included increased salaries for assistants, more financial support, additional support for players, etc. Tumey came back months later with the same bare bones offer, which surprised Hawkins.

So it may not have been incompetence in identifying Hawkins, but in not gathering the needed financial support. In his defense, Coach Gould supposedly had the same requests for increased support, same which Coach Biggs needed. We had survived with minimal support for decades. Going into the basement likely woke up Mrak Hall, ICA, and alumni.

I believe there was an apparently malcontent band leader who moved on to DHS and helped bring the band down.

I do like the concept of a large on-site event facility / kitchen. I previously mentioned adding a component that could be used for events outside of sports. Graduation, awards ceremonies, alumni events. This adds that twist and should bring some campus funding.

We lost Freeborn, Coffeehouse (small concerts), Rec Hall no longer handles big concerts w the reduction in seating capacity, even the Grad and the Pub are gone. But it seems like when you're spending $50M you should get more than four luxury suites. I hope there is a balcony / view on the backside.

When I heard Pysk was injured, my heart sank. There went a leader, DL stud, and Sack man. It also hurt any minimal depth we had - added to an already depleted defense.
