Do they still let students, faculty and staff use it for pickup games?
  • 6'5" Alabama QB w 2 yrs left available now
"You beat me to it...no way. Let's see, I'm a QB on the number 1 team in the country, I can transfer to any D-1 without sitting out, but I'm going to some FCS in California that doesn't even have a study hall...."

... and this QB hasn't thrown a pass in 3 years, and since he is graduating early, probably doesn't need a study hall. ... Anyway, phone calls are cheap these days... maybe he was a fan of Hawk's on ESPN... if he took us into the second round of the FCS playoffs, that would be another selling point for him to the NFL. ... and we're in Caleee-forni-aaaaa, not Bosman or Fargo.
  • 6'5" Alabama QB w 2 yrs left available now
Yes and no. He has to thread the needle ... a good program will usually have QBs, he doesn't't want to get buried at a bad program, a scholarship has to be available, he won't go to a program that runs the veer, etc.

And what if he has to play third banana again? Way better odds here.

We we're good enough for Ken O'Brien, and we have a Pac 12 HC!

It does look like he turned around LAJC quickly.

    Welcome aboard!

You make a great point, something I've also noticed, particularly when new international students come to sporting events. They want the "college life", but it seems like they often don't know what's going on, they get on their iPhones, and leave at halftime.

One idea. I've seen some DI schools have a fun student-education demonstration(s) - partly taught by players themselves. They do this as soon as new students move to campus.
  • 2017 Recruiting
    My bad.

Cam Trimble** had offers from Nevada and Cornell - great combo, he sounds like the perfect Aggie! Also took a visit to Boise State. 6'1", 220#, Defensive MVP in his conference, 1st team all league and 1st team all county.

Interesting that most of our early commits were on offense.
  • 2017 Recruiting
Bryan Rayas 6'1", 215, out of Lynwood ... which might mean we landed two LBs?

Plainfield Station is too nice to be a dive bar... now, a classy biker bar in an episode of Waling Dead, that's a possibility... or a place Anthony Bourdain could get falling down drunk (on camera). ... Bordain got hammered in a bar in North Beach I've walked by a hundred times but never ventured into... I need to remedy that.

Why? ... rough crowd / behavior?

OldAggie, wide receivers coach McCann sure seems to have landed some talented speed at wideout the past few years.

    Congratulations to Coach Watts.

Fresh State vs UC Davis in 2021?
  • Hawk: New Facility, Increase in Budget ...
Even if I agree with both of you, your logic doesn't't explain why Coach Biggs did more with less. I believe Coach Gould got a $400K increase in budget and expanded recruiting area. He also recruited a lot of speed. Biggs last year had several very competitive, close losses.

The HC is responsible for everything, and our offense was often as predictable as mud. We had poor clock management, and weren't even prepared with a hurry up offense! A recent article noted how Gould cared for his players - which we all agree with - and as proof he got a blizzard of texts from players on their daily status as the interview happened. A fellow Aggie calls that micromanagement and a poor allocation of the HC time.

Today's article in the Davis Enterprise says Gould would not change a single item. Not one item.

He blames injuries and basically says he inherited a dumpster fire... which really means Biggs really did an amazing job. How did we compete with Boise State and others? DE claims Gould will be a PE coach here for the time being.
  • Hawk: New Facility, Increase in Budget ...
1.3 D1 wins per year last 3 years, a lot has to change. I hope Foster comes back...did the D have it's best outing versus SLO with Foster in the Gould Era this year?

Will the 3rd redo of the Memorial Union get it right? Oh those nonfunctional spirit chimes and grassy hills at the entryway... Has anyone seen the construction project recently?
