  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
From Sam herder on twitter: (this would be insane if sac actually tries this)

From Matt's other Twitter-like social media account:

"industry sources tell me Sacramento State is expected to announce tomorrow that they are withdrawing from the Big Sky and joining the Big West in everything but FB, effective July 1 2026. And if they can't join FBS, I'm told their short term plan is FCS Independent"

My own thoughts: I was curious if Sac State would pull this move next. I know them joining the Big West has been in the works for the Olympic sports. And Sac State could put together an independent football schedule in 2026 and beyond, even as an FCS member, with a combo of FCS opponents and FBS opponents. Departing the Big Sky after pretty much publicly saying "we'll be breaking up with you soon" probably makes some sense even if it's not the exact way Sac State intended with its FBS independent hopes hitting a roadblock by the FBS Oversight Committee. I also hear the school is very unlikely to get the waiver approved by the D1 Council next week

Wow. That is wild, especially considering how they have been talking recently. Even more wild considering schools like Missouri state, kennesaw state, Sam Houston all going fbs recently.

I disagree. they included a huge amount of lake tahoe lab boat, facility and info on every post. I think most people have been positive about it from social media. I like ruffling the feathers of our renewed rivals at Nevada.
  • 2025 MBB Recruiting and Transfers
I am here to personally apologize. While I do think a large portion of this recruiting bump is due to our move to the MW coming and the hype associated/recruiting power that comes with that, Les has really been able to bring in some good folks. Looking forward to seeing what we will do in the coming seasons!

listen, I think when rocko announces stadium and arena expansion or renovations this summer your mind might change a bit… with actual timelines unlike sac. They have names and media but base facilities, track record in literally every sport, and money is on much more solid on the Davis end.

yeah I don’t doubt that when rocko announces our suite expansion project that they will sell quickly. Plenty of local companies and ag alum who would love to say they have a suite

Most definitely reading into it too deeply but having multiple davis football coaches repost the Gloria Nevarez (mw commissioner) visiting davis post on their accounts commenting about how awesome davis is makes me wonder if they tell recruits the mw is in sight for fb.

yeah I want a dang hot dog on any side of the basketball arena. New concessions would be nice!

Really want to echo the sentiment that I hope this info comes out early in summer as to build momentum, especially getting financial commitments to the projects from donors.

I thought about this too, was thinking since the reno would probably be expansion related (with some seat additions and boxes), it would probably less of a new undertaking..

my exact thoughts. Seems like ELS has done a variety of collegiate athletic and general facilities.
