• Week 11: UC Davis (5-4) @ Idaho (6-3)
I had the same question but unless someone here has inside info, we won’t know until we see them take the field.

I think this is the only logical take. Otherwise it just sort of sets them up for a good chance of failure - at least in the W-L department.

Montana seems to think they are.much better than Davis. But, they haven't beaten a team with a .500 record or played as difficult a schecule.

Montana fans are at least semi-delusional if not fully. Say things like “when we get to the playoffs” when they will have 4 conference losses (yes, they will lose in Bozeman), have no good wins and a powder-puff out of conference schedule. Maybe RTD should be an acronym to “return to delusional” instead of “return to dominance”. 112 yards total offense against Weber? I will say there defense and special teams are good, but their offense is poor and totally unimaginative.

yep, you nailed it on every reverse engineered contrarian point. Guy’s obviously has an axe to grind. Shows Solano Community college 1979- present for education on his Facebook page. Maybe he hasn’t graduated from JC (or can’t edit) I am not on Facebook so only got a quick view on browser. Man those Gould years were painful.

Agree totally on your assessment of Hastings and your post in general.
  • Week 11: UC Davis (5-4) @ Idaho (6-3)
(Franz Joseph ..sorry couldn’t resist) Hayden Hatten ran wild on the first half against EWU. Had 4 TD catches. He has got decent size (6’2”) and bodies up the smaller cornerbacks. Hope the Ags have a strategy to keep him in check. Idaho running backs scorched EWU on the outside - not so much up the middle but the EWU defense is pretty poor. I think the key will be to get some pressure on their QB McCoy who is having a good year.

I hope Kraft and/or Davis is back this week. I really think Kraft is a solid receiver - just been plagued by injuries.
  • Week 11: UC Davis (5-4) @ Idaho (6-3)
Hayden Hatten is a big play receiver. If he is one on one the ball is going to him. He has made some big plays. Wonder if there is a specific plan to deal with him. Jam him at line of scrimmage? Cover 2 with safety help?
  • Week 10: Idaho State (1-7) @ UC Davis (4-4)
poor attendance. I heard it was “cold” but not a real good showing for last game and senior day. If you want cold, Montana game would be the ticket. 35 and snow. Announced attendance was 25,000 in Missoula but don’t know how many were gone by halftime. I betcha Montana is thinking they have “returned to dominance” (RTD) after thumping Poly. The RTD is kind of a inside joke to Montana State fans.
  • Week 10: Big Sky Schedule and Scores
Montana State - NAU game was extremely entertaining. One of those “whoever has the ball last wins” - and it proved to be so. Martinez was fantastic this game. MSU gave him a lot of pressure but he avoided it deftly in most cases and delivered strikes to wide open receivers. MSU has issues in defensive secondary with both pass coverage and some tackling. Mellot passed more than expected and was not particularly successful on it but did deliver a nice deep ball to save their hide at end of game (led to game winning field goal). If you have ESPN+ and haven’t already done so, I highly recommend spooling through that game.

Is Hutton injured? Heard that both Davis and Kraft are out.
  • Week 10: Big Sky Schedule and Scores
Grant Sands does it again. As a long snapper you don’t want anyone to know your name.
  • Week 10: Idaho State (1-7) @ UC Davis (4-4)
I think this game comes down to containing Guillory in the receiving game and limiting Hays scrambling attempts. Aggies should win this one by a comfortable margin, but you can't count your chickens before they hatch.
    Agreed.
  • Week 9: Big Sky Schedule and Scores
Sac’s definite tendency when O’Hara is in, is O’Hara following Scattabo as the lead blocker. Tough to stop but I would plan on it.
  • Week 9: Cal Poly (1-6) @ UC Davis (3-4) Battle for the Golden Horseshoe
one of the parents I met in Bozeman (Conners parents I believe) said Frazier was the fastest guy on the team. He’s had some good safety blitzes.
  • Week 9: Big Sky Schedule and Scores
Dunniway is physically fine but has looked off the past couple of weeks. 2 picks against Idaho and 3 against Montana although I think one against Montana was a Hail Mary at end of first half. I think his confidence has been rattled. Without O’Hara, Sac loses the Idaho game and likely the Montana game.
  • Week 9: Cal Poly (1-6) @ UC Davis (3-4) Battle for the Golden Horseshoe
Montana is always over-ranked. It boils down to name recognition Their offense was abysmal today.
  • Week 9: Cal Poly (1-6) @ UC Davis (3-4) Battle for the Golden Horseshoe
Time to switch over and watch the Idaho @ Sac game.

The sac announcer keeps calling them the “Bengals”. How lame is that?
  • Week 9: Cal Poly (1-6) @ UC Davis (3-4) Battle for the Golden Horseshoe
wonder if they will go to Harper. He throws a nice looking ball.
