That’s where you need a TT to pound a play or two. It was a good anticipatory defensive play.

Pet tick appears to be out. Center so a bit critical.

UND vs NDSU without starting QB Ketteringham. Tall order for the team formerly known as the fighting Sioux.
  • Week 2: UC Davis @ San Diego
UND QB Ketteringham injured game 1. UND up against it today against NDSU in Fargo.

Kennesaw State falls in overtime to Kent State. Kent State a weaker MAC team. Kennesaw state announcers the biggest whiners/homers I have heard in quite a while. Kenn. State did outgain Kent by a fair amount.

Kennesaw fell to South Dakota State in playoffs last year.

Also Stadium is a channel on Pluto TV so with a smart tv or device you should be able to stream it over Pluto tv app.

Correction: Pluto stadium schedule does not show game. Only a patriot game today.
  • FCS Games of Note: Week 2
Sac State seems to be improved and Idaho State not as good. Sac State D did well, but they struggled with field position and getting points on board.

Idaho State special teams looked very poor against WC. Still have Flannigan but lost Madison at RB. Flannigan was not especially effective. Lost Gueller as QB and replacement not at same level. Their best weapons are Gueller WR and their mighty-mite Michael Dean.

Riveragie. You are referring to common bermudagrass also known as “wiregrass”. The hybrid vegetatively planted stuff can look real nice if managed correctly. The tifway cultivars were developed at Tifton Georgia (ag research out of university of Georgia). They use this on golf course fairways in the south. I think poly could make it look nice - but have chosen water conversation over “looks”.
  • Week 1 FCS Games of Note
Watched some of the USD Poly game. Better QB at Poly this year. USD DBs 3-5 yards behind receivers on the big plays Poly had.

Polys field looked awful for this time of year. I contacted a colleague at Cal Poly at their Irrigation Training and Research Center and after driving by said he thought the mowing and turf variety made it look brown. poly underwent a water conservation study a few years back it indicated cutting back on irrigation of sports fields. I applaud Poly for sticking with natural grass, but if you do so, it ought to be kept in a non-stressed condition. Might as well go to field turf if your not going to manage it for health/appearance. Here in the SE the colleges have beautiful bermudagrass fields.

Personally I think it must have been a band-uh member who sprayed roundup on the field. After all, the band-uh is thoroughly evil.
  • Bad press for the Band-Uh!
don’t know what the ladies majors are but one who complained in the California Aggie “a third-year American studies and gender, sexuality and women’s studies double major”.

I was in an administrative position in an academic department here (ACC ag school with an ever aspiring football team that can never seem to get over the hump) and I had to deal with hearsay third part complaints. I would not speak to accused faculty unless it was corroborated by the direct parties as I was not going to accuse people when there was no evidence. I did have a talk with a couple faculty for a corroborated issue. The claims were very mild compared to what you see on the news, and the complaintent was the most vulgar and “disturbed” student I knew of in the department. Nowadays in the University the title 9 training and hypersensitivity almost promote a “I was wronged” culture rather than teaching students how to navigate life. I am glad to be retired from the University now. You really didn’t feel that free speech was allowed.
  • Bad press for the Band-Uh!
my wife notifies me of this while looking at her news feed this morning. I checked a couple of the associated articles (I then the California Aggie). First, I will say that I don’t now what has occurred in recent years, and I don’t defend improper behavior. I was a band-uh member in the late 70s. There was always a “study bus” if you didn’t want to sing from the “hymnal” and nobody forced anybody to go to an off campus party. It was very amusing to me that one of “the victims” telling about the “hazing” associated with baptizing maverick hats in Putah Creek. Really - are kids nowadays this sensitive? We did the same back in the day and nobody got bent out of shape - in fact it was the only way to get your hat floppy. Seems like some “victims” can’t simply choose to make some reasonable decisions on there own but would rather take down an organization.

I had to dig out my old Aggie band uh manual that went over a few logistics and expectations. In it was a song sheet. Traditional fight songs and - ok boys and girls - close your eyes and cover your ears - there was a DRINKING SONG included. And to think that somehow today that I am not an alcoholic and my life isn’t totally screwed up. I guess I should have claimed victimhood and sued the university.

And I saw that the solution was to force a new name on a reconfigured band and change uniforms. Really? Talk about throwing the baby out with the bath water. Toss out the band and you’ll have no cheering section.

Watched NDSU vs Butler (youtube) mostly to check out new bizzzzon QB. Lance can run - faster than Stick I think due to long legs. He reminds me of Christien of SDSU. He has a bit unorthodox over the top windmill-like passing delivery. Looked good passing but it was Butler and most of time receivers wide open. I would say that his release is not all that quick due to his overhead slinging delivery. East to see why he prevailed over Iowa State transfer. Iowa State guy does have a quicker release and maybe a bit stronger arm but is way slower than Lance.

NDSU has 30-35K fans at target field in Minneapolis where the game was held. They easily have the best fans in FCS and better than most FBS. O yah NDSU won 57-10. Butler was near bottom of Pioneer last year so really no test.
  • Where can I get an Aggie Doss jersey?
...anybody know where to get an “athletic logo” CA shirt (lemon style), or the band-uh/water tower style ca shirt? I only see baseball hats with that and I already have a “very old” baseball cap with the block CA.

That synthetic horse logo they introduced 10 or so years ago has always just looked creepy-awful to me and lacks the tradition of the old logo. Glad Hawk brought the old one back.
