Always wondered why poly posters thought their D was so good. If UCD is so poor and Maier is carving them up so much, doesn’t speak so highly of their D.
Well one of the bottom lines is - you give up 42 and 45 point you are going to lose and probably deserve so. That’s not an offense thing other than putting your D on the field more than desired.
The couple tunnel screens I saw got blown up. 72% completion means something else not working like passes for no gain. Of course speculating as I have not seen most of game.
But that’s what makes it charming, harmless and fun and keeps us all from taking ourselves so seriously. I hardly think that an innocuous cheer is somehow going to threaten diversity? I am sure there are administrators or marketers that don’t like. Anyway my perspective and I was in the band-uh so that may bias my view.
Bossy cow cow is unique to the Davis campus and “perish the thought” it’s traditional. I once hosted a prospective student on a visit to Utah State at the request of my pastor and while we settled down to watch college football when I told him I went to Davis he immediately intoned “bossy cow-cow” to my amazement. He was from Texas A&M so I replied hullabaloo Kanick kanick (sp?) I think some of the school spirit was lost when UCD decided to ditch the traditions (cheerleaders in denim on milk cans for instance) and try to go Hollywood. Why not celebrate your traditions and who you are instead of trying to be like everyone else? I am not saying cling to everything but something has been lost. Thank goodness the band-uh is at least not wearing pajamas and marching Corp style.
My thoughts too. A couple of explosive plays. Generally when you give up more than 40 points, you’re going to lose, but at least the effort was there. O for a couple of Big-time pass rushers.
