    Hot off the press

CAMPUS ALERT: After consulting with our UC Davis health and fire experts and monitoring updated guidance from other public health experts regarding air quality, UC Davis classes will resume on Wednesday, Nov. 14, however, all outdoor physical education classes are canceled. In order to encourage people to refrain from excessive outdoor physical activity, Unitrans will offer free rides for students, faculty and staff throughout the day, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

UC Davis will have a limited supply of N95 masks for students and employees, available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Masks will be available beginning Wednesday mid-day at the Memorial Union and the UC Davis Fire Department on the UC Davis Campus, and at Employee Health, UC Davis Health on the Sacramento campus.

Our concern for the health and safety of our community is our priority. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed. More details in the link below.

For what ever reason, Vacaville has had a bubble of clean air last few days. Maybe they need to change the filters on their sampling hardware, lol.
  • Week 11: UC Davis @ Eastern Washington
I made a comment during the game that the temperature "felt" much colder than what the thermometer indicated. My feet were frozen. In hindsight, would it have helped if the team got there a few days early and practiced on the field? I remember back in the D2 days when we were hosting a playoff game, one of the dakota teams got here like in the middle of the week and were practicing at a high school in Vacaville.

Well, after seeing my therapist, I am putting this game behind me and looking forward to the Causeway, if we can play it.

Do they factor in fire containment in that equation? My guess is their algorithm is based on a constant input of contamination.
  • MBB 11/12: Aggies (0-2) at Arkansas (0-1)
Announcer said 3 pointers have not been kind to us. 2 pointers haven’t either, lol.
  • MBB 11/12: Aggies (0-2) at Arkansas (0-1)
Arkansa appying full court pressure, we aren’t
  • MBB 11/12: Aggies (0-2) at Arkansas (0-1)

He wont be 100% after the beating he’s taking
  • Week 12: CAUSEWAY
Does anyone know if the team practiced today?

For some reason, the air quality maps show Vacaville having cleaner air. What about having the game at Vacaville High or maybe a JC if our air quality is bad?

Hopefully that would be the schedule. A lot of students will be gone for Thanksgiving weekend.

So does playoff action start 11/24? If so, then our first game would be 12/1?

I just got home from Spokane. The amount of smoke in the valley, extending to the bay as seen from the air is daunting. I’m a pilot and am accustom to flying around forest fires, its something you need to learn if you want to get from point A to B in California. But this fire is unreal, i have never seen this amount of particulates and poor visibility.

Having a playing field is one issue, practicing for the game is another factor.
  • Week 11: UC Davis @ Eastern Washington
I really believe the single most decisive element in this game was their D line. They made Maier rush his passes, they were tough against the run, got the 3 and outs, resulting in our D being on the field a long time.

For what ever reason, air quality in the Davis/Woodland area is often better then Sac. Maybe the delta breeze?

BTW, this score spread could have been worse if it wasnt for our punter. He was a real bright spot today for the Aggies. The EW fans sitting around me were very impressed with him. Too bad we needed him so many times.

yeah, EW is graduating like 24 seniors, many of which are 6 year guys. They arereally good amd physical. Without taking anything away from them, the shear cold had to affect our guys. There were a lot of near misses, ball handling issues, that must of been a factor for a bunch of CA guys.
