“And penalties have really hurt the Aggies.”
Ha, nothing has changed playing the Hornets at home.
  • 2026 Week 1: UC Davis @ Portland State
I’m up in the air about going to Portland. We’re definitely going to SD the following week for that pay back night game. My wife has relatives in Vancouver, WA so she’s usually an easy sell on Portland games. That stadium is such a strange venue for football, but at least the overhang keeps you dry if it rains.

Eastern Washington is a totally miserable experience, at least the time i went when we played them twice and got burned by Barrie’ in the closing minutes.

Circle September 26th. That’s going to be a night of be there or be square. Total pivotal game for the Aggies.

I hope he has a nick name, lol. That’s a long name for the announcers.
  • Aggie Ascent - Facilities Master Plan Release
Dunning did a piece a few years ago on moving up. He essentially said that playing big name schools in our stadium would pack the house. My take is we need to continue to win under Plough and beat the FCS heavy hitters and see what kind of interest we can get. We need to reel in bigger corporations. Woodstock is great, but in pizza terms we need Dominos :).

I think from 53 you should be fine. If the traffic is bad you could always turn left towards the arboretum and sneak out onto La Rue and catch the freeway on old davis road. I park in 56 and usually start walking with a couple of minutes left otherwise the foot traffic will back up traffic.

Monday will be a receiver clinic for local HS players. My Folsom HS grandson will be attending, as well as some of his team mates. That program (Folsom) always has tough teams. They are serious about their football and are a good feeder school for the Ags.

Those afternoon games in SD are brutal. Do they have lights, lol?

Its next week. I’ll be there. I go to most of them. If you’re local, stop by. We have a good group.
  • 2026 Week 1: UC Davis @ Portland State
The times I’ve gone to that game the alumni assoc organized a fun pregame tailgate. The stadium is weird. Maybe a converted soccer field. Parking was ok.

I’m with Dr. Mike on moving the Champion Aggie tailgate hospitality over by Biggs field. Bring everybody in close proximity. We can all enjoy the band and cheerleaders pregame entertainment.

I chatted with Rex at a spring practice. His upper and lower body look really bulked up. My guess is they are being very cautious about his return but that he comes back in full stride.
  • Needed Updates to the Football Uniforms / Field
Attended a conference in Boise last week. Our banquet was held in a room overlooking Boise State football stadium. I’ve never been to this stadium before. Very impressive facility, minus the color of the field.

“ -Running game will be impressive and explosive early. Look for huge outputs against three of the first four opponents. Fisher will be spectacular, but the others (Acia, Walsh, et al) will have big nights along the way.”

Agreed on impressive and explosive but don’t forget Matteo. He was really impressive during spring camp and it looks like he’s bulked up. Plough praised his leadership and performance during spring camp.
