  • MBB: Seattle (8-2) at UC Davis (5-4), Wednesday Dec. 17, 6:00 pm, ESPN+
Coach Simpson made the point about fouling early even as Seattle was inbounding the ball. I am sure Coach Les had made the same point and the players just failed to execute. As for the call, I thought it was bogus even on replay, but it would not have happened before the NCAA added the "continuation" rule for shooting fouls. It did look like Heimbrodt was making an upward motion with his arms, so it was a judgment call, but far from being clear cut. The ref didn't hesitate a second i making it, though. It was a real shame to lose given the great games by Chappell, who was 7 for 10 from trey range, and Fagbemi, who had 15 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.

A very exciting game but a heartbreaking one point loss in the last 2.2 seconds on a questionable foul call. No stats available on ESPN for the last 8 minutes of the game. The Aggies played very well and did not deserve to lose like that. It should have been decided in OT.

A really nice comeback by the Aggies. They went from being stone cold, missing 8 in a row, to red hot shooting 50% with 53^ from 3 point land. Sandy Simpson is doing a much better job of the color IMHO. His analysis is instructive now.

Amazing shot by Cooper. Ags 3 point shooting (6 of 11) has them back in this one, 38-33.

This is starting to look like the Oregon game, Ags down 15-2 already. Small crowd, so not much of a home court advantage for us.

6-7 means that the younger generations can annoy the older ones with meaningless memes.
  • MBB UC Davis (5-3) at Oregon (4-5), Saturday Dec. 13, 1 pm, on Big 10 Network
I did not mention it in my introductory post, but unlike many teams the Ags have faced this year, Oregon has a core of "native" players. Still, the majority of their key players are transfers and I'm speculating that Dana Altman has been struggling to get them to mesh. I'm of the strong belief that basketball is the ultimate team game. The more the players are experienced with each other the better the team plays. I think what we saw of them against UC Davis was a team that has finally done that. I suspect they will be a force in the Big Ten.
  • FCS Playoffs Quarterfinals: Illinois State (10-4) @ #8 UC Davis (9-3)
Is this the worse the team has played this season? A bad day for men's athletics as the basketball team got crushed 104-62.
  • FCS Playoffs Quarterfinals: Illinois State (10-4) @ #8 UC Davis (9-3)
It's clear to see how they beat North Dakota State. These guys are peaking.

Maybe Collier has the flu, too?
  • FCS Playoffs Quarterfinals: Illinois State (10-4) @ #8 UC Davis (9-3)
I wonder how much the flu affected the team. Cofield, for one, is not playing well.

    What else can happen?
  • 2025 FCS Playoffs
If Ags win they get to host Villanova next week.

Lest we forget: Ags were down 20-18 to Rhode Island at the half last week.
  • FCS Playoffs Quarterfinals: Illinois State (10-4) @ #8 UC Davis (9-3)
Three possessions in the red zone: 3 points. ISU running and running. Ags need to watch out for a pass here.
  • MBB UC Davis (5-3) at Oregon (4-5), Saturday Dec. 13, 1 pm, on Big 10 Network
    Final score: Ags lose 104-62.
  • FCS Playoffs Quarterfinals: Illinois State (10-4) @ #8 UC Davis (9-3)
0 for 2 on 4th downs in the red zone. Hope we don't look back on this and think should have gone for field goals, but I won't second guess Plough.
