All I have on Montana is theories:

    1. Committee made a mistake. Oops! That ballot should have been for UCD.
    2. There was election fraud. We could sue and take it to the Supreme Court.
    3. Montana has good buddies on the committee.
    4. Someone on the committee was once denied admission to UCD, so he's getting his revenge.
    5. The Aggies and Montana were even, but only one more Big Sky team could be added, so they flipped a coin,

    Thanks! My FCS education continues.

Thanks. I stand corrected on Jackson State. I'm not sure why I thought I saw them in the bracket. I've only recently followed the playoffs, starting in 2018 when I saw that the Ags were in the playoffs. I joined this list entirely for men's basketball until I realized I could watch football as well. This is the first year that I watched every game.

I wonder why. I guess the Ivys think their too good for it, but Jackson State is in this year.

There is a lot I just don't understand about this selection process. The FCS website states that 11 teas get automatic bids. This year one of the bids went to Eastern Kentucky, 3-2 in the ASUN-WAC, over Jacksonville State, which was 5-0 in the same conference. There are 15 FCS conferences, so why did 4 conferences (Ivy, MEAC, SWAC, WAC) not get automatic bids? Of those four conferences, only one had its champion in the playoffs (Jackson State, SWAC) leaving Yale out! I suspected that they relied too much on the rankings, but then I noticed that Mercer (#19) was also left out.

'Tis travesty fit to makes the very gods blush.
  • Week 12: UC Davis (6-4) at Sac State (10-0)
I never thought Cal would fire Wilcox, but Wilcox just fired his offensive coordinator, Bill Musgrave, after the offense struggled. Thus they will be looking for a proven play caller and Taylor might be just their guy. For Taylor, it would be a stepping stone to a big time head coaching job.
  • Week 12 Big Sky Scores.
I never liked any conference with so many teams that the schedule can be unfair depending on the matchups. This year's Aggies are a case on point. Half their schedule is top ranked teams so they lose 5 games. The other half is weak teams so people ask, "so who've you beaten?" It seems unlikely that the FCS playoff committee will recognize this inequity, but I hope they do. UC Davis deserves to be in the playoffs.

Cal needs an offensive coordinator. I hope they grab Troy Taylor, ex-Cal QB, and Sac State will need a new head coach.

Remember the spirit of '72 and Bob Biggs.
  • Week 12: UC Davis (6-4) at Sac State (10-0)
No sacks yet. This would be a good time for one by the Ags.

Side judge was right there. I'm betting it stands.
  • Week 12: UC Davis (6-4) at Sac State (10-0)
Yeah, that fake punt took the air out of our defense which had played really well. It's not over yet, but we need to step it up. A few breaks would help. Seems like the Hornets have made most of the big plays.
  • Week 12: UC Davis (6-4) at Sac State (10-0)
Sounds and looks like a home town crowd. Are there many Aggie fans there?
  • Week 12: UC Davis (6-4) at Sac State (10-0)
The Sac State play-by-play guy shows his bias when he spots the ball incorrectly in favor of the Hornets on both sides of the ball. Can't explain that by bad vision.
  • Week 12: UC Davis (6-4) at Sac State (10-0)
Aggie defense has limited Skattebo so far 48 yards on 11 carries. A worrisome difference is how Hastings has done. His accuracy has been a bit off: 10/16 for 108 yards, but he looked good on that last drive.

Nice block by Pettek on that long run by Gilliam. Gotta punch it in here.
  • Week 12: UC Davis (6-4) at Sac State (10-0)
I wonder if the Hornets have figured out a key to when and where Gilliam is going to run. It shouldn't be that easy to stop him. He only has 7 yards on 4 carries.
