Still concerned about defense against better rushing teams, but this bodes well for a decent season

It feels like Ags finally have the personnel to run the offense Hawkins has wanted to run. Our backs look super solid, line is doing its job, and HR's legs can be the wild card, not that we've needed them yet

That's fair, and if we see some improvement in the season then that will definitely look like it all makes sense.

Cynical me says they've figured out they can get 3-4 yards they need it and use all four downs if they keep it on the ground, so there's no reason not to shoot for big plays

I understand that rust is a thing but I am frustrated again and again that the Ags are often the sloppier team on the field.

It is known going in to each season that Davis teams will often not have any particular speed or size advantage. I know it's not as simple as just handwaving execution errors and penalties away, but good execution is simply something that has to happen and has to favor the Aggies to be competitive.

As far as "only incompletion of the day" goes, we'll take that one. Rodrigues is good

Rodrigues has been quietly having a pretty good game on his first start, 8/8 for passing, long of 26. Less effective on the ground, but even just the threat of that helps

Honestly I think this offense is quite good, just it needs to be amazing if this is another year where defense gets obliterated
