I seem to remember Hawkins listing everyone and their brother...
I think this year, we just don't know who's going to be the guy at each spot yet. Understandably.

It is a little odd that Psyk isn't on top.

Totton / Cofield were really big recruits. Being listed as a true freshman is impressive.

Can we not ask Rex to return kickoffs? His load is really heavy as-is.....

Such a poor decision to ditch the Big Sky prematurely.
I think it's funny how quicky they were replaced, and how impossible it is for them to come back.
  • @ Mercer to Open 2025
Sometimes a QB having the ability to extend one or two drives with his feet is all it takes to win a game. With that said, Tom Brady won quite a few games as a statue......

Who is PJ? He is injured, broken collarbone.Riveraggie

Don't know who PJ is......Didn't someone on here say David Rasor is out for the season?
We have an AJ, JJ, TY (x2)....

I get all that and agree with you about the importance of the rivalry, but I'm not sure how these schools are expected to work together, and to what end. I honestly want to know in what ways you think Sac and Davis should be working together.

The rivalry is hard to embrace and promote when Sac is jumping divisions and leaving the conference we share. All the other teams you mentioned are conference / subdivision mates. Sac and Davis will be neither.

    As I stated above........
    Sac has created two issues:
    1. Does it make sense for Davis to play a rivalry game on the road every year? No
    2. Does it make sense for Davis to play the same FBS team every year? No

Its shaping up to be panic time for Dr. Wood...especially with all these FBS transfers signed up for big things.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Right, this has to make sense for Davis too. Including whether Davis would want to play 2 FBS games per year. Because playing one FBS game vs. the same team every year is very limiting to the recruiting / marketing benefit to playing up.

Nobody has even started talking about the possibility of Sac St. being FCS and without a conference in 2026. Big Sky won't pick up the phone, as they've clearly moved on.

Interesting question legally as to whether the NCAA has any say in who they let in to FBS.
If the court rules the NCAA has to let Sac in, it looks like any school who has $5 million and funds the correct amount of scholarships/ sports is in. This could severely diminish the NCAA's FBS brand. From Sac's perspective: what even is the criteria besides meeting these requirements, arbitrary popularity contest?

Maybe Sac should buy out Stetson for us if they want our game so badly! (a perceived sell-out home win in their view) It appears Sac has plenty of money laying around just waiting to be spent. Davis is clearly not in a financial position to be buying out contracts.

But more seriously, it sounds like Davis is going to honor its contract with Stetson, which I assume was agreed to a year or more ago? This is completely reasonable as business relationships/reputations are important.

I'm not sure how these schools are expected to work together, and to what end. I'm not trolling you. I honestly want to know in what ways you think Sac and Davis should be working together.
Are you suggesting they make the move to FBS together?
Obviously neither school is ready. Davis just isn't enacting the fake-it-till-you-make-it strategy.

Sac is leaving the Big Sky, is leaving the FCS, is leaving the Causeway Classic.

The notion that Davis is somehow responsible for the possibility of the end of the yearly football game is preposterous and not grounded in reality, yet, its all over their board.

    Sac has created two issues:
    1. Does it make sense for Davis to play a rivalry game on the road every year? No
    2. Does it make sense for Davis to play the same FBS team every year? No

I think the Aggie offensive line is one of the better ones in our D1 history. The defensive line has a lot of turnover from last season. Transfers and non-starters form last year taking over.

I'd say a 3 man front allows for more flexibility and speed on defense.
3 linemen, 2 LB and 5 Defensive backs + a "rover" like Goligoski for instance who can drop into coverage as a LB or move up and rush on any given play.

Ex-Aggies, or pro ballers / coaches feel free to educate!

All those athletics upgrades were designed around the football stadium, as part of a plan to enclose it when the stadium was renovated (and upgrade the football program/facilities). And that's what it looks like architecturally as well.

Not a good look to just abandon the plan at this point. It makes everything appear to be poorly thought out, which appears to be true.

SJSU stadium is about a 25 minute walk for students. Its on the other side of the freeway about 8 blocks away. Not on campus.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
What about all the $ they've spent on the Broad Fieldhouse and whatever the heck they built on the north side? Wasn't this stuff all or mostly for football? Money down the drain?

Cal Expo idea feels pretty desperate. Moving the stadium off campus sounds like a terrible idea. Its going to make the student atmosphere even worse. Ask everyone who plays (or played) off-campus....San Diego State, San Jose State, even UCLA. Its really hard to get students to travel to a home game. And yes, even a 5 mile trip is far when you are living on campus. Anything more than a walk and students don't want to go.

Why doesn't Wood chill for a minute.....so frantic.

I thought maybe either Stanley/Fowler would start because they both played pretty significantly last year. I can see Batson starting for sure....all three of them definitely playing a lot
