  • Men's BB Opens the 2017-18 Season in Exhibition vs Bethesda
I’m definitely going to check out the exhibition game. Looking forward to seeing what the new guys bring to the table
  • Week 11: Southern Utah Thunderbirds
I spent 7 hours with a Weber football alum driving through the first snow storm of the year yesterday (in Washington - long story) . He is definitely an Aggie fan this week. Go Ags!
  • Will the Fans Ever Really Come Back?
I'm sure the band does this to a certain extent, but they are just a part of a larger, coordinated effort, that needs to take place.
  • Will the Fans Ever Really Come Back?
My son, who was raised a true blue Aggie, is in his first year at a Pac-12 school. I know it's a bit easier to get students out to games when your team is 6-0 and ranked in the top 10, but he was blasted from every angle with Cougar Spirit long before he even stepped foot on campus. As soon as he accepted, his social media was inundated with football related articles/tweets/posts. "Get to know the players", here's the scheduled (again and again), game day activities, etc. Then the very first night he was on campus, all the freshman met at the FOOTBALL stadium for the official welcome to campus. The band was there, cheerleaders, mascot, and they learned the fight song, the cheers, and what it means to support your school. On game day, the band (or parts of the band) goes around to every dorm (and a lot of greek houses) to fire everyone up. Obviously they don't get everyone to go, but I guarantee that most everyone at least knows there's a game going on. I'm positive the same can't be said at UCD.

Again, I know Pac-12 football is a lot easier of a sell than Big Sky, and that the student demographics is different at UCD. But we can, an must, learn from other schools successful techniques for engaging students.
  • Field Hockey 1-9
    Probably women's lacrosse.
  • Vote for Keelan!
Just voted (again) and Doss' is up by exactly 1 vote (4,231 to 4,230).
  • Mid-Major Madness Picks the Ags to Finish 2nd in the Big West
Lots of mystery for the Ags, but there doesn't appear to be a slam dunk clear favorite going into the season. Can't wait to see how some of the new guys fit around Chima.

  • 2018 recruit Kehei Clark decommits
Verbal commits has Clark heading to Virginia. Big move...

    •10/2/2017 - 2018 PG Kihei Clark (5-8, 145, 3★) committed to Virginia. - Per Link
  • Week 5: North Dakota @ UC Davis
My wife will be there, sec 121 I think, and our daughter will be over in the Aggie pack. Should be a fun time!
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
This doesn't have anything to do with the Weber state game, but I was listening to the Dan Patrick show this morning when Dan said he was flipping through DirectTV last night and settled on the Portland St. - UC Davis replay. One of his producers asked if he was rooting for "his" Vikings, but he said he was pulling for UC Davis. They then talked a few minutes about Ken O'Brien being from UCD, them moved off the topic. Kind of cool to hear a national sports talk show even mention UCD. Granted it was in the context of "I was so bored that I watched an FCS replay", but still...

  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
The last few years I'd watch away games at home because I knew I'd either be disinterested by halftime or too grumpy to be around people. This year, yeah I may try and get to the Grad to watch the game.

  • Week 3: UC Davis @ Portland State
Watched the game while sitting on the beach in Tahoe. What a perfect afternoon

    Go Ags!
  • Week 1: UC Davis @ San Diego State
I'd love to see a competitive ball game beginning to end. I'll settle for no major injuries and a quality stream from Facebook.

  • Kehei Clark --MVP Nike Tourney
He needs to do what is best for him and his career, but hopefully the lure of joining an upcoming program and probably contributing right away (along with the academics) is enough to keep him. Another kid on that same AAU team, Mason Forbes, is followed by several Aggie coaches and a couple of players (Chima and Graham for instance). He's from Folsom and has a 3.8 gpa (per his highlight video) so maybe there is some interest.
  • MBB 2017 Recruits
I'm not sure what the active roster limit is. Right now, we have 16 on the roster, but at least two, Gonzalez and Newfeld have to sit out due to transfer rules. That brings us down to 14, and I assume that Nelson sits out due to his knee injury (that's just a guess).
  • MBB 2017 Recruits
Coming from the JC ranks, he should be eligible to play. Of course, Les has the option, like he did with Chima a few years ago, to red shirt him for a year.
  • MBB 2017 Recruits
Interesting that this one comes on board relatively late in the recruiting game. I think, when Neufield signed, that the article said that the 2017 class was completed. Interesting...but whatever happened, this team is really shaping up. Should be a fun year!

  • 2017-18 schedule
Excellent news about the game at WSU. Those of you who know me know that I've been bringing my two kids to Aggie games since they were toddlers. My daughter will be a senior at UCD, so her loyalty has never been split. My son, though, starts Wazzu in the fall. He's been to every home men's game (and a handful of away games, including the BWT) the last two years, so this game in Pullman will really test his Aggie loyalty. He's already planning on watching as many aggie games on-line as he can, but it'll be nice that he can catch one in person this year.

  • MBB 2018 Recruits
I love the fact that he choose UCD now, rather than waiting to see what other offers come in the next year. Seems like he really bought into the program and it's direction.
