I’m not sure why I was fearing this at the end of the season. 7th place finish, small crowds……just felt that with SO many transfers out there, that this might be tempting to him.
that 51 USF team he played on has to be in the top 5 most talented teams ever. 3 NFL hall of famers of that team! St. Clair, Ollie Matson, Dick Stanfel and Antioch's own Gino Marchetti. I believe 4 others on that team played in the NFL. crazy
I’m not sure what other academic requirements for admission(besides undergrad 3.0) into UC grad programs, but I suspect he doesn’t meet them - hence the reason for another opportunity. Much harder to qualify for grad admission than undergrad
I think when we played in Reno, we were looking at spots like Monterrey Pennisula College. That wouldn’t have been viable in 2020. Might have to give up a home game
Another interesting foster is Saint Peter’s who knocked off Kentucky. 5 players from Africa. I just heard someone on the radio talking about Africa as the next recruiting hotbed since the NBA has started a serious developmental program. Again, another area Private schools can cash in more easily than public
USF is in the tournament for the first time since 1998; they have 7 transfers (not counting JC players). I think a lot of middle majors, especially private schools, will follow that model.
good luck to him. guessing the school didn't turn out to be a good fit for him, since there seemed to be opportunities for a wing the next couple years.
