2 guys with 4 fouls with 11:00 to go….that might hurt!

Impressive finish to half after falling behind 10 out of the gate. That was without much of a contribution from the field from Pepper and Manjon. Nice to see contributions from the new guys.

    Again, no Shaw or Ba?

11.5 point underdogs, not unexpected. We’ll see if we can ride to the challenge
  • Week 11: Eastern Washington @ Davis
like in the spring. Lost the scoring opportunity when we failed on Fourth and were down 16-0 early.

pretty sure he left before receiving his degree, but I might be wrong

I don’t mean it as a negative; I think the coaches just see the record of a big sky team and keep moving us up. I just don’t think we’re better than all but 3 teams.

As for Sac, they have had an easy schedule but they have big wins (beside UNC) and a road win over Montana. That’s easily top 10 resume
  • FCS Football Polls Week 10
I think we’re as overrated as Sac is underrated
  • Big Sky Games Week 10 & Other Games of Interest
having those teams beat each other up, opens up a potential spot for a BSC team. NAU is out, and Portland has Sac and EWU upcoming so they are likely out. Could the other top 5 all get in?

so, do I know this former player? Maybe sits next to you and me at Aggie Stadium?
  • Week 10: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
cal had 25 players out due to COVID. There was reports that several players had negative tests but city of Berkeley denied them traveling to Arizona. Wilcox was definitely pissed after the game and made vague comments about how they have to deal with city on the issue

The game plan for spring was run-centric. 42 carries for 218 yards, so 5.2 yards/carry without Ulonzo. They ran 20 more plays than us, so we weren’t able to keep the ball away from them. If memory serves, we tried a fourth and goal early, and we’re stopped - we HAVE to get points every time down there, TDs if possible. A turnover or two should would help!

I think these projections don’t look at possible future reasons, it’s as if the playoffs start today. Might be less rosy in two weeks
  • Week 10: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
I saw that. That, and the extra week of work, seemed to help the OL although run game was just ‘okay’. Run game was really starting to gel in third quarter, but they weren’t dominate enough to continue when we got so predictable. That, and the fact that NAU was getting more rest in fourth, really slowed us down

Lansom has been out at tackle for awhile, and Ford came out yesterday limping very badly. Linemen injuries have been an issue.
  • On the right side of another upset...sort of
I thought the cows were moved from Tercero? I don’t recall smelling them this season
  • Week 11: Eastern Washington @ Davis
I think Barriere has really become a better quarterback over the year, and it seems like EWU has made an effort to make him a complete QB. That being said, if they need him to run to win out, they might turn him loose.

it shows up now on the ‘on demand’ section for college football on ESPN+

you should be able to find it on ESPN+, i think starting tomorrow.

i thought the defense slowed them down a bit after that first quick TD drive. seems like we adapted a bit, blitzed more, and got pressure on the two QB's. they had 200 yards or so at the half, after 75 in the 1st 3 minutes. Martinez was going to be a load, but the injury was on a sack. it felt like when we shut things down on offense, that kind of seeped over the defense. plus, we were in the prevent mode, so giving up a 97 yard drive over 7 minutes seemed like a good tradeoff.

offense pretty played with a swagger for 3 quarters. Hastings looked confident. the running game wasn't its normal self, especially against a defense that hasn't been great, but was picking up steam in the 3rd Quarter. i know we played the precentages that the backup QB wouldn't come back from 3 scores...BUT....getting THAT conservative with clock and play calling really takes the energy from the team.
  • Week 10: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
I think we had 485 yards in first 3 quarters; 15 in the fourth. Seems like we lose our edge when we slow it down that much that early.
