  • Aggies have a new Defensive Coordinator???
I think the moves are not a staff shakeup. Creighton is moving up to Fresno ( he’s kind of stuck here in terms of career movement) and Huppert is going to Washington (Pac12, alma mater and more $$$). Tucker? I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes over a SoCal JC program.

With early spring training around the corner, we really need to have coaches in place. The change of direction back to Kansas puts us in a bit of a bind.

    thanks for the pictures.

sadly, i have no problem finding myself sitting in the second level above the fullerton bench. we were pretty much by ourselves.

we went to a 1-3-1 zone in the 2nd half (i thought we'd come out in a zone since they were killing us inside in the first), but that just seemed to leave us MORE exposed to their inside strength. we played that VERY agressively at the point, and that seemed to stretch us way too thin to recover to passes in the middle. we did get more aggressive going to the hoop in the second half, with mixed results, but at least we got off the arc.

i hate to beat a dead horse..but....i wonder why Printup is buried on the bench? he's strong and long, and seems to be one of the few bigger guys who can take the ball to the hoop. maybe he's hurting. we obviously aren't privy to what happens at practice or in the training room.

dual Brian Shaw sighting. Jr got a few minutes (until a really ugly shot got him back on the bench). senior was sitting up in the second level behind our bench.

that was a disappointing showing for the Aggies. From the get-go, we were much less aggressive than Fullerton. Gonzalez was hot initially off the bench with 2 3's, but that was it for him. Mooney never got untracked (very good defense). The inside guys were out muscled. They were in the bonus early in the 2nd half, because they were going hard to the hoop. we'd get the lead to 2 or 3, then they would push it back up. we had a couple frustrating possessions where we got a stop (down 3), but they got the rebound and put it in. the spurt at the end was exciting, but we could have used that aggression and intensity about 39 minutes earlier. Les was fuming on the post game about not playing hard at home. hard to blame him. the next two are tough games, so we could be 2-4 really quickly.

This is a big one, with a road game at Hawaii and home v Irvine coming up. be nice to be at the 3-1 level after tonight. Irvine is at LBSU and CSUN is at UCSB. I'll be in attendence. Hope we have a decent turnout.
  • Best NFL QBs from the FCS
Ken was actually not FCS (or D IAA back in the day) since both Sac and us weren't at that level. he'd have to be on the best of DII list.
  • USC looking to get out of 2021 game
I know they made the leap but they might be more beatable now

Agree with everything you say....which is why last season was so puzzling. We had a good group coming back, basically the team that won the league the year before (played a lot of the conference without Chima) but we never really challenged.

i was able to follow the first half and when we held them to under 30 I was feeling good. Young guys are carrying us offensively, but everybody is contributing on D. We have had many games where we’ve outtalented our opponent, but night in and night out we compete and give ourselves a chance to win.

I’m planning on coming up Wednesday -> free ticket for filling out the football survey!

    Bring back South Alabama!!
  • USC looking to get out of 2021 game
the Ivy League doesn’t start that early. This year they started on 9/21. That’s part of the challenge of getting a matchup with them. All those others look promising
  • Aggies have a new Defensive Coordinator???
remember that sac was 7-4 in 2017 with many of the guys who played big roles last year. 2018 was a disaster with injuries. That and combined with Sears not being a very coach. It was a good situation for a bright coach to step into.

plus the fact that there’s been no announcement about people leaving. Might be a reshuffling of people; lot of turnover on the D line so maybe bringing in a second voice. We’ll see
  • MBB: Aggies (6-11, 0-1) @ Long Beach State (6-12, 1-1) 7 pm Thursday Jan 16th
CSUN is a weird one; maybe that makes them normal in the Big West! Beat the Beach by 18, beat Riverside by 12....and....as you point out.....lose to Poly by 18! We want the CSUN Hydes on Saturday!
  • USC looking to get out of 2021 game
we’d have some extra cash to pay someone from the East or Midwest to venture out
  • USC looking to get out of 2021 game
Honestly, I’d be very happy with this. Big payoff and enough time to find a replacement. Pac12 games are really tough
  • MBB: Aggies (6-11, 0-1) @ Long Beach State (6-12, 1-1) 7 pm Thursday Jan 16th
by the way, CSUN beat Riverside 80-68 on the road. Diane with 36. He's a load.

Hawaii struggled with Poly 65-61 on the island

we were up 15 early in the 2nd before LB made a 12-0 run to make it interesting. rallied late to pull away (seemingly!) in the last 5 minutes, unless LB made that crazy run in the last 30 seconds. gut check win, especially on the road.

i have to admit : when i saw Pepper v Sac i thought he looked WAY overmatched at this level. boy was i wrong. he's really settled down and has become one of our most dependable players. as abridge said, he's tough and does good things around the hoop.

i really like nuefeld but he can disappear for entire games, especially against athletic defense. he starts to rush, his footwork gets off, and his shot is not good -> almost like he's anticipating a block. if he can slow himself, and trust himself, he can be a solid scorer. we need that.
  • Aggies have a new Defensive Coordinator???
i would be very surprised it Tucker is gone, since he and Hawk are very close and i think the defense has been pretty decent the past two years. We had a few tough games early on, but played Montana State and Sacramento pretty well, until we wore down late. Played NDSU as well (if not better) than anyone else.

as for twitter....i saw two accounts, one deleted and other last active in December. banquet is next sunday. be interesting to see what's up there.
