  • MBB: Aggies (2-6) at Utah (4-2), 4 pm HST
The difference in Pepper and Koehler from when I saw them at Sac is startling. They looked overwhelmed that night, but look like they belong against the pac12 teams this week.

Squirt back, no Printup. Must be illness or injury since we’re going deep tonight

Made a little run. Hope you didn’t turn it off. Got it to 5 before their 3 at the TV timeout. 48-40 15 to go

They have had 2 8-bounce 3 pointers that fell in. Yikes. Seven minutes in and we have no rebounds.

    that’s right, law school.

We had Nolan Berry which didn’t work out; he’s playing for a small school back near St. Louis, I think

are you thinking Neil monson? He left for med school ( with wife and child) using a NCAA scholarship. I don’t think anyone who left ended up playing at a similar competition level.
  • Erron Duncan
It looks like there is a post from Saturday showing him recovering from surgery. Did something happen in the causeway that required immediate surgery? Or old pic?

    Correction; says nov 22

I should mention what a treat it is to have Ted Robinson do that game. Knowable and very favorable words about the Ags. As for Don MacLean.......did you know he’s the Pac12 career scoring leader? You do if you listened to him last night. Wow. Mentioned his storied career at least 5 times. Robinson is very underrated.

agree; medical redshirt can get you a 6th, for example

Printup played 28 minutes with 11 points v Portland; sat last night. Makes you wonder if there is some illness going around; Mooney’s minutes we’re down v Portland. Rogers is a solid perimeter defense who we could have used last night
  • 9 Aggies Named to All Big Sky Teams
Preece might be a career achievement award. And if he had big games last year v the 3 teams we didn’t play this year, that might have carried over. I also think teams game planned against him which keeps his name in coaches’ head.

7 returning all Big Sky players. 8 if you count Parks. 9 if Brand is counted. Lots coming back( of course, same was true THIS year). There’s a lot of talent in the program and lots more coming.

I turned it off at halftime and was catching up on some recordings (big interview with Dan rather is a really good show). Checked my phone and it was a three point game! Back to the pac12 network. Gonzo, Manjon, Mooney looked really confident and the young guts finally looked calm. We need someone beside Manjon that can drive; else we had to rely on the long ball.

Stats were weird. They shot 57%(we were around 40%) and killed us on the boards try it was tied down the stretch. I guess the 3’s and the turnover edge got us back in? We had FOUR turnovers to their 13. Utah is going to be really tough. Then a couple back at our level. I’m looking forward to going on Dec 7 to see the improvement from Sac

Cal starting to pull away. Up 6 with 3 to go

i agree; i was mostly referring to the 80's era of Aggie football. by then, the 'we were smaller and slower than everyone we played' wasn't the case anymore.
  • Cal Poly’s Tim Walsh retires
seems like a stretch. i would think you'd want someone with ties to Central/Southern California so you can dive into that recruiting area quickly
  • Cal Poly’s Tim Walsh retires
Poly's job should be attractive to alot of coaches. they have had success at this level, just have really scuffled the past 3 years (well, at least 2 of the 3 years). next year will be a transition going from the option type offense to something more modern, similar to what Hawkins faced. They should be able to recruit in Central and Southern California. Facilities are good, great campus, decent support.

i wonder if anyone on their boards are calling for a return of Rich Ellerson? They did have alot of success with him, albeit pre-Big Sky.
  • Cal Poly’s Tim Walsh retires
I would steer clear of UNLV. They haven’t been relevant in years. Maybe playing in a new stadium is a recruit draw but I can’t see them being a good program anytime soon. Jay Hill would be a stronger candidate

I was there as a UOP recruit. None of their coaches came out after to chat. They were humiliated
  • CAUSEWAY 2019
and Sochor and company had all summer to prep for them! One year we opened there with a win (78) and they were coming off a lose at South Carolina.
