  • MBB: William Jessop (4-0) at UCD (0-1) 7 pm Thursday 11/7
as i mentioned above, we were down 37-31 at the half to these guys last year (and i think it was a double digit deficit late in the half) before we got serious on defense and pulled away. scoring 100+ points, and laying a lopsided win is (hopefully) what these guys needed. we have 4 fifth-year seniors, but its there's not a ton of experience (Mooney the exception). its going to take time, and, if the OOC schedule doesn't beat them down, they might surprise some folks in the Big West. Should be fun to watch.

always nervous about how a team responds after a bye, especially on the road at a rinky-dink stadium in front of a small crowd. start fast on both sides of the ball!

I was heading home from the mountains on Tuesday, swapping the radio between KNBR and KTHK, and switched to hear the start of the game. First 10-15 minutes sounded okay, but it was alarming to hear 'backdoor cut' over and over and over (usually followed by cheering!). they hit a 3 to make it 23-16 when i got home; when i checked my phone it was half and it was 39-22! hopefully just a young (experience-wise) team getting a little overwhelmed and out of sorts on the road.

There is a post on Facebook for 4 free tickets for Thursday game. AGGIEHOOPS in the promo code. apparently the Warrior-Aggie matchup isn't as attractive as the Raider-Charger game.

We struggled with these guys last year last year on a wet, cold Sunday afternoon. Down 37-31 at the half before we woke up.

Loyola is good. Final Four team two years ago and they have recruited well. It’s gonna be a struggle this year to find scoring, although I expect Mooney to shoot better (trying too hard in front of the home town fans?). Same with Gonzo. Hopefully the team defense will come around. Hard to beat a team that shoots 60%. Too many easy buckets

Our emergency backup RB was a DB last game. He got hurt on the second half kickoff. Not sure who was next. Harris WAS the emergency up at SUU; he got hurt at practice. Between drills. Yep that kind of year

I'd reach out to Rob about Friday. Since this is a charter there might be more department folk traveling, so they can organize at least a no-host thing (by the way, the CAAA looks to be no-host? might have to BYOB). My weather underground for Hillsboro now shows 10% chance on Saturday, with 0.06" forecast. Sunday/Monday rain will effect our site seeing plans, but i think there is a nearby Indian Casino for my wife where its dry inside!

Our box will be there (5 total). We’re coming in Saturday staying a couple extra days. I know of a couple of my old teammates who will be there
  • Week 10: Games to Check Out
looked like Montana hurt themselves in the first half. Two fumbles, one on a punt inside their 10 (psu turned into TD) and a missed short FG. They stopped PSU’s run game which will be a challenge (although we’ve done pretty well v the run lately). I think our passing game is better than Montana with their backup. Another tough game. Hopefully we’re much healthier after the bye
  • Week 10: Games to Check Out
Even without Thomson they were even in yards. 2 INT by the backup hurt, but he got better with time. If Thomson is out, things get dicey for them but they should still beat NSU (gave up700 yards to EWU) and Idaho
  • Week 10: Games to Check Out
If Thomson is out that will really hurt Sac. He’s been one of the best in the nation. Weber is really good
  • WEEK 8: AGGIES @ THUNDERBIRDS
SUU has really dropped off the past two years. I think if we didn’t get some key injuries against them, we would have pushed our 26-0 lead to something similar to this score
  • Week 10: Games to Check Out
I’m most interested in Portland v Montana. PSU is 3-2 in conference but have played a weak schedule. Wins over Idaho, UNC and SUU and losses to ISU and NAU. Preseason had 2 FCS losses( Boise and close to Arkansas) and two D2 games. Montana will be a good barometer even without Sneed
  • Week 10: The Bye
also, if a student-athlete is using summer sessions to become eligible, those courses pretty late in the summer.
  • Week 10: The Bye
i don't think any program should ever announce an academically ineligible player.
  • Grand Opening of UCD Fan Shop Slated for November 13th
This is really cool! Finally a place for fan gear. Tired of seeing pink or green UCD shirts in the bookstore
  • Week 10: The Bye
i think what he said in his opening about how proud he was of the fight of the players, and how they responded to having to play different roles is his way of saying 'we are REALLY beat up at many key positions'. hope we can get some bodies back healthy during the next two weeks.
  • Week 9: Weber State @ UC Davis
what bothered me was that they cheered each replay they showed on the big screen (it was under review). Cheering the initial hit is a natural reaction; but cheering the replays when the kid is laying flat, unresponsive? That’s a very bad look
  • Week 9: Weber State @ UC Davis
I think Richardson was out last game. I think the OL has been a constant shuffle this year.

last year, we were seemingly injury free. OL was pretty much intact all year, and they improved weekly. no so this year. we started thin in some areas, and injuries are hitting all areas. seems to be having a real impact. i like the 'next man up' idea...BUT....at some point those next men aren't as good as the guys before, and they limit us to what we can do. i've seen us running alot of 2 TE sets this year, i think as a concession to OL injuries. RB's are beat up (except Ulonzo who is a stud). We got down to Nicko Harris as an emergency at SUU.....he played well.....then got hurt this week at practice between drills! New emergency got hurt on the 2nd half kickoff (which is probably why we fair caught every kick in the 2nd half!). we had a TON of guys in tee-shirts on Saturday. Maybe we can get some folks back during the bye week. these guys need a shot in the arm for the home stretch.
