  • Expanding Stadium
The Big 10 is tame compared to the SEC.

I actually like Cal's baseball stadium. Went there once for an Ags game in Berkeley. It was on a Friday so I coupled it witha trip home to the East Bay. I didn't care for those little bleachers, but I really liked the intimacy...I imagine that must have been similar to the jewel box parks of the early 1900's because it is a small park squeezed up against their gym and other buildings.

I've also been to SMC's baseball field because my brother's HS team played a game there. It's a small cozy field.
  • Honest question: What kind of school are we?
The problem with the soccer season is that you blink twice and the season is over (in most seasons) because we are a quarter school and matches occur in the afternoon during a busy time for new students.
  • 2019 NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament
USF's basketball squad is looking pretty good. They'll be a really tough opponent next month. But it is good to see that the Dons are back after some disappointing years.
  • 2019 FCS Playoffs Bracket
Heck of a year for western teams.
  • Keelan Doss: Raider Watch
    Did Doss play today?
  • Week 9: Weber State @ UC Davis
How is the AQ in Davis with all the fires to the west?
  • WEEK 8: AGGIES @ THUNDERBIRDS
They are going for the onside kick. Gotta get this one. I don't trust the defense.
  • 2019 BATTLE FOR THE GOLDEN HORSESHOE
Another team photo-less season for CP. SloStang, when and how did that tradition start?

I love beating CP, but we are like-minded institutions. There is respect and they compete for the same types of student profile. Sac State is not in our class.
  • Chancellor Message
I hope he stays long enough so that in 10-20 years, he gets a building named in his honor.
  • 2019 BATTLE FOR THE GOLDEN HORSESHOE
There's certainly a difference between dominating a weak conference / weak schedule vs playing in the Big Sky with a weak OOC schedule. Western teams are at a disadvantage and the committee can easily choose another B. Sky team with a better OOC slate.
  • The FCS National Outlook
That may be true. UO is still a very good school, but it's kind of funny how in Oregon, OSU is considered the more serious science school. OSU is more like Davis.

The joke on many Cal boards is that UO is really the University of California, at Eugene. Certainly true. ESP in that stretc about 5+ yrs ago when UC accepted a large number of out of state and international students at the expense of qualified in-state residents.
  • The FCS National Outlook
I always thought it was weird, but there are a lot of Bay and Sac area kids who end up going to UO for college. My small prep school (maybe 100ish students when i was there) had 2-4 kids going to U of Oregon for every year I was there.
  • Montana Game
The forecast on Accuweather says about 70ish temps, is that right? If so, those are perfect conditions for fans and not horrible for players either (I suppose about 65 for players is just right).
  • The FCS National Outlook
California isn't boycotting Oregon, and Orgonians hate Californians. I lived there for three years and everyone always threw in a California joke (myself included at times). Washingtonians don't hate Californians because half of the population here is from CA anyway.

My sister moved to Richardson, TX to be closer to her boyfriend and she is having a blast there.
  • State of California travel restrictions
The problem with California legislating this stuff is that it never ends. Regardless of how you feel about this particular issue, it's not illegal to prohibit it in Iowa. If the SCOTUS were to weigh in, like they did on Gay Marriage and DOMA, that would be different. CA could ban travel to a state that doesn't sign on to some sort of global warning legislation. I'm liberal leaning, I just think they are overreaching on these travel bans.
  • The FCS National Outlook
I think Sac State has a contender too.
