I agree with you. I mean, it should count for something that we have professors and researchers who have published at other schools. But, publishing while in residence at the University of California, Davis (in our case; name of current school in others) should have greater weight. I was no science major, but I was lucky to have taken a non-major course or two in Alan Taylor's classroom. That man is great and he deserves all those pulitzer prizes. UVA is lucky to have him and it is a good fit for his field. But, reading a lot of his books with UC, at Davis cited was great for our school. Likewise even more so for our Vet and Ag programs.

Don't forget that Fresno doesn't have the high admission requirements that UC Davis does. I know JT is a good coach, but he recruits players who get close to APR issues. The FBS team I follow is Cal, and one of the reasons for his firing there (besides yrs of underperforming) was academic failings of players which drew a backlash.

Fresno State has lower athletic standards than Cal and certainly lower than us too (ours are probably higher than the Bears or UCLA). Not at all surprised. But, I always enjoy seeing California FB teams (except U$C, J St Tech, and Stanford) do well. So good for the Bulldogs.

Good point. Head to head should always break ties. I do think Weber is a better team, but like you said, it is hard to argue with results.

Why is SUU rated higher than Weber? Maybe its because I'm also a Cal fan, but I really think Weber is a better all-around team.

Will this cannibalize our Mens Soccer fanbase or will there be no-effect? It seems like with our international student population increases, Mens Soccer could one day be the #2 team on campus (depending on M/Ws BB).

Also, a lot of students are from foreign countries that may not have any culture of American football. The key would be if we can get those students to support our basketball or soccer teams and determine if there is a drop, proportional to their sports.

That 2nd picture is quite shocking. In my '08-'11 years of being a student and one in which I attended a handful as a grad, the attendance on the student side was never that low except in poor weather. I can't even imagine the Toomey /DII Championship days when everyone followed the team.

I remember a game where one of our Big West opponents had a european player whose last school was listed as "Gymnasium 4" lol.
