    Good insight from Fugawe.

Elfan "They really need a modern space with at least average DI amenities for basketball and the flexibility to modulate between say 5k and 10k seats without looking like a horror show."

Let's not get ahead of ourselves beating up the Pavilion. Its been a while, but from what I recall UOP, SMC, USF, and many of the WCC schools don't have great facilities. They have modest size, and are fun w a packed house.

I have pondered how much we lost losing 2,000 or so seats. Graduation is one. Could we land bigger musicians w 2-3,000 more seats? There were some big names at Rec Hall.

Aggie6thman had a long list of missed opportunities w the facelift. (We can't even get consistent audio at Aggie Stadium.)

So ICA now controls these facilities, which were supposed to be for all students - The Pavilion, Upper & Lower Hickey?

Question for Fugawe - how about the chain link eyesore in front of the Pavilion & ARC. Emergency fire hydrants? There had to be other options.

If we were 4-2, would we have had a better chance of making the playoffs?

In HS he was listed as 195 & 200, are we saying he's now 215#s?

MUST WATCH first 15 seconds - student reaction to late TT touchdown. ... WHERE is this???

Don't forget, we have 6 QBs on the roster:

    Hunter Rodriguez - Junior - 6'0", 180
    Trent Tompkins- RedFrosh - 6'0", 200
    Miles Hastings - RedFrosh - 6'1", 180

    Gunnor Faulk - Soph - 6'0", 195
    Grant Harper - Frosh - 6'2", 200
    Mitchell Dixon - Frosh - 6'4", 220

Whether we take the full season passing yards per game (228.20), or remove SLO (4 games, 191.25), that's still a big dropoff from Jake Maier 2019 (309.17 PYG). 26% & 38% drop.

Fantastic HR fake and then chuck over the top to TE Castles. Beautiful play and execution. We had some clock mgmt / communication issues, and I don't think we saw all that HR can give us if he had more rollouts, w the option to pass or run, or deep balls. Spring ball gave new coordinators experience. It looks like HR is better at getting the 8 or 15 yards, and getting out of bounds, and I worry about the goal line and LB punishment TT could take.

FWIW, I think Marsh said the director of officiating was at the game.

Key play was Q1, 4th & Goal at the 1. We also called a TO after our 3rd offensive play on a 1st and 10.

I believe in honesty. We didn't drop 74 points on Lehigh, or beat them by 49.

FWIW, I did a quickie statistical comparison of this offensive numbers year vs 2019 (5-7 team), including backing out the blowout numbers from the depleted SLO team.

    2021* ::::::::::::::: 2019

    PPG 23.25 /// 28.67 (- 19%)
    R/APC 4.2 /// 4.2
    R/APG 185 /// 123.8 (+ 50%)

    P/YPG 191 /// 309 (-38%)
    A/YPG 376 /// 433 (-13%)

    * minus UCD-SLO game.

We were 3-2, but easily could have been 2-3, with one win coming over the depleted SLO. Two wins over mid tier teams. We don't face the Montana's next year, and the Big Sky appears to have great parity.

Regarding specific players, we don't know who is injured or might have had academic bumps in the road. Regarding our QB controversy, both HR and Hastings completed about 67% of their passes, Tompkins 50% (5 of 10), and Gunnor Faulk 100%.

Davis Enterprise: "Hawkins may have been unhappy with the result of the penalty, but he defended the call afterward.

“It was close, but I get it. We’re trying to make the game safer,” he said. “If it’s the rule, you enforce it. If it’s close, call it. I’m in agreement with the call.”

Should we schedule a replacement game for Cal Poly and see what TT and Hastings can do?
  • Week 5: #9 Eastern Washington @ #11 UC Davis
Some good points. Erron Duncan and Suani would help on D. Our yearly stats are morphed bc of the ridiculous blowout of Cal Poly. It still seems we don't pressure the QB enough. Frosh Jacob Horne and RedFrosh Sean Harlston - both 6'3" DBs - might add some needed length.

Some bigtime young offensive weapons, but I didn't find our play calling creative - not today, not a previous 9 rushing plays in a row or running 80% on first down. Where was the bang-bang no huddle? Why not roll out HR more, and few shots downfield. The fly sweep worked. Will TE stud Castles return? TT taking a shot w such limited reps shows the risk of a TT-type runner.

Today's QB a nightmare. We have to handle Weber, EWU, Montana and Montana State to compete nationally.
  • Week 5: #9 Eastern Washington @ #11 UC Davis
FWIW, a bio I read said TT wants to be a coach, so he should be a student of the game.
  • Week 5: #9 Eastern Washington @ #11 UC Davis
We have some good young players, but the Montana's are beasts. Our offense sucked in the first half, gassing our D. Don't understand the play calling, or not going for a FG late and assessing if TT arm is OK.

    No Harrell?
  • Week 5: #9 Eastern Washington @ #11 UC Davis
Agreed. Why not a rollout or 20-yard sideline pass? These 5 yard runs up the gut chew up time.
  • Week 5: #9 Eastern Washington @ #11 UC Davis
So was the move to TT to change pace for the offense?

I don't understand our conservative Ron Gould like play calling. Where are the rollouts? Not a trick play this season?
  • Cal Poly Football Drama
Technically, they can't have a scholarship taken, right, if they are making grades? Schollie can be honored but removed from the team. But I'm told some coaches have numerous ways to change a roster.
