I don't understand our usage of players.

Last week we ignore Aaron Moore, this week Tehran Thomas.

And whete is stud Jamison, hurt?

Ugh. Talking to a Cal Poly Dad here, even he said it looked like we lost focus in 2nd quarter.

Student section light, no coverage in Aggie.

    No killer instinct?

    No sweep today?
  • Horseshoe 2017
Should have called TO one play earier.

Rodgers DT, Flowers DT, and Anesi lead team in tackles. 2 sacks.

Have we tried a 2 point conversion this year?

No mercy. Recruits here, we need a Big Win.

    27 - 14

1 rush for 2 yards for whole offense?
  • Horseshoe 2017
So they rediscovered WR Aaron Moore. Good!

I agree with the goal of a balanced attack. We beat NAU 24-17 in the second half when we played Aggie Football. We weren't perfect, only netting 3 pts on two back to back drives where we reached about the 20.

I thought our defense played decent, and had to contend with some touchy refs. At least one targeting call looked suspect. Cockus was under 50% passing, so our D had to play some role on that. We only scored 7 points in yhe first half, and that was when we passed at least 50%.

He had two very nice runs late in the game, ran over / through half tackles/ arm tackles. Even when tripped up continued to chew up yards. He earned more PT. A true freshman.

My dissapointment is not with our players, but with the decision to run 85% of the time to open the game. 1. Wrong logic when our run game is unproven. 2. Adapt quicker if it ain't working. Go 50 / 50 air / ground, and if someone gets hot, capitalize. We can't afford to spot a very good team 3 or 4 TDs.

Leota and a RF were also part of a team effort to spring Modise on his 100 yard return. Good work.

OK, Preece out was a factor, and Plough admits we should have changed things up earlier, and we got down too far. Wanted to keep Cookus off the field.

Exactly. We threw the ball against SDSU! We have Doss, throw the rankings out the window! Are they gonna double Doss and leave someone open?... Point 2, we have no running game. Point 3, when we slice through them on series 4, in the air, then move to Plan B. ... Maybe someone is hurt, but I don't think that gameplan shows confidence.

We can agree to disagree with Plough & Hawk.

I'll have to rewatch the program.

5 of our first 6 plays rushing, all 5 to one RB.
10 of our first 12 plays (3 series) were rushing.
    8 carries by one RB.
    84% rushes

Series 4 we open up passing, we score. Fast.

  • Late Season Report Card
Lots of predictable running plays in the 1st quarter, 3 and out. One 6 plays and out. Then we buried them in one series passing, and went back to the predictable running game while they buried us.
  • Late Season Report Card
Good point. But if we had gone up 14-0 or 17-0 early on, defense had more rest, everything changes. Maybe a few less penalties and calmer heads.

We have a dominant passing game, but went with Vintage Gould. How did that sound good to Hawk & Speckman?
  • Late Season Report Card

Executive Summary: Vintage Sochor / Hawkins > Vintage Gould

Our D was extremely effective in the beginning of the game, offense not. Play calling baffling. Penalties worse. Defense on the field too long.

Did we have more than 1 player ejected, or injury bug? At one point we probably had 5 or 6 Defensive Sophs + RF on the field ... Rodgers, Jamison (stud predictions true), Bennett, RF Wilson and Airey.

Hard to compare the EWU game vs NAU. If Cookus was on, they would have buried us. The league has tape now. Great effort by players.
