Have USF, St. Mary's, and Santa Clara said they won't come here?

Santa Clara came here in our DII days. I think Bradley fans also believe Les preferred a weak OOC schedule.

Next year will be diffetent without the Big Man.

I called the Aggie Hotline. Forgot about that oldie. Thanks. Coach Kouba was with us many years through the D2 championship, all of the Stewart years, and only 1-2 years with Coach Les.

I think the ICA website changed after AD Blue came onboard. I recall formatting problems. I just learned to go with whatever.

The press releases give me a migraine.
  • Nice article on Ron Gould
Then why did we go backwards with his recruits?
  • MBB 2:30 pm Saturday: Aggies (8-4) vs Radford (6-6)
Yes there is. If you have good interior players, go inside, take high percentage shots, and draw fouls. Get to the line, and put them in foul trouble. Also tends to bring the defense in, kick back out for midrange jumpers. Or drive to the bucket, same thing.

I politely disagree. Coach Sochor was big on positive reinforcement, cutting out negatives, negative thoughts, and he excelled in 4 sports in high school. He was thorough, but didn't micromanage.

69aggie, yes Ham yelled, but he also chewed on his towel, consulted with assistants, chatted up the refs, cracked jokes, and when a guy got hot he was moving back and forth, enjoying the ride, cheering on his players... not micromanaging every pass and shot. I'm told great sense of humor. Fierce competitor.

We didn't recently have a huge turnover rate (not typical for Davis) because of the cow barns.

We may have offered a walk on to Hiram Johnson ATH Rahjae Johnson, 6'3", 170#s. Played at least QB and DB. Via his Twitter.

Mature players did fine with Coach Hamilton. He was intense during games, and I never took his behavior as personal. He was more focused in practice (upper Rec Hall was still open), no towel. From what I witnessed, he loved his players, and was invited to many law and medical school graduations. Scheduled tough preseason games, Santa Clara, Kansas. Comical stories that there were better IM players than Mike Lein or Preston Nuemayer.

I have never understood coaches like Les who have to micromanage every pass and movement from the bench. We recruit highly intelligent players and coach them for years.

BTW, our new QB will be a sophomore!

As armchair quarterbacks, we have to defer to Hawkins and staff. Judgement call, Hawk came in with established juice. Hopefully we get more kids ready sooner, Trimble and Hunkin come to mind.

Great news on Hunter Rodriquez. Threw 42 completions 1 HS game, ran for over 100 yards 1 game at ARC.

Rodriquez, from high school - "he’ll most likely follow in the footsteps of his brother Jake and play in college. Jake is a quarterback who transferred from Oregon to San Diego State for this season; Hunter said he has already received offers from Arizona State, Utah, Colorado and Nebraska."

Playing defense in the Big Sky is brutal. Most are below #70 in the FCS / NCAA total defense. But we finished #113, giving up over 5,000 yards and over 6 yards per play. It's tough for me to believe a staff with Bob Foster would have a coaching problem that big.

The few people I chatted w point to a need for more pressure from the D Line. Gould lost several studs on defense to FBS dreams, and our staff brought in at least 3 Juco players for immediate help.

Special teams errors didn't help. Do we have the right plan?

Don't recall either getting a lot of attention. Maier bounced back from Sacred Heart University (FCS) and threw for 3,800 yards at LBCC, and we jumped on him, incl Hawk. Doss played BB and possibly track, we were his only offer. Credit Gould & staff. A theory is that many FBS programs allocate most / all schollies by junior year, so have few left for late bloomers.

Jucos supposedly little help for us in past. This year Maier, Flowers, Cloud, Martin, Modise, Moe play big role.

Million dollar question. Roster already updated. I thought DB was a strength, adding 4 we're at 18. Cade Peacock looks like a stud, so maybe he helps, but its rare when a true freshman is an impact player. Parenteau did, and Connor Airey had a solid year (23 tackles), but it seems like we need to add someone to bring some heat. 14 DL, will we add one from the Jucos?

    What system are we running?
