    Aggies on staff...Hawk and Young?

I don't see newbie Cody Hawkins as an OC, still wet behind the ears...and no grad degree?

OK, tell me about these new additions...

    Doesn't Wullff live in Davis?

    +1

All experienced, and with something to prove. Or heck, maybe add Troy Taylor. Go Ags!

    Power running, or speed?

I thought the west coast offense was dead?

What kind of O are they running?

There are some exciting options already here or on the way... an athlete / QB / RB... Imagine Leota occasionally as a FB who can throw... And we have Shepard at WR...

We should be able to look at how Lawrence and Montreal did, what they ran. ... Willamette claims their staff back together in Davis.

I'd prefer an experienced offensive coach - to compliment Speckman - who can compliment and poke holes in any 'innovative' scheme before we go live. A young Jim Sochor, Troy Taylor?, ... I just don't see a coaches son with 1 year at a junior college having that knowledge or capability. ...or would Young and Foster fit that Bill?

Zander, good question... Is Hawk an offensive mastermind, or a CEO / HC?

Modesto Bee reports one hour ago that Aggie Sam Young will work for us as a consultant. He loves Davis, will study a lot of film... Hawk offered him a job at Boise which he declined.

Three coaches with significant HC experience.

Coach Gould and his staff secured 7 or 8 early verbals, they get big credit.

No wonder Hawk loves Speckman. He started all 40 of his college games at linebacker, andhe was a finalist to become the HC at Portland State. Most recently he sued the DMV in Wisconsin for making his life unnecessarily tough to get a driver's license, even though he had been driving for decades.

This clip is great, takes a few minutes for him to get warmed up.

    UUUGGHHHHH.

I think 22 young men graduate.

FYI, Speckman plays the trombone, and Asst, RB Coach Jim Chapin will not be retained. Best wishes, coach... Lugga had a great year, as did Kelley.

More about Will Martin Letter of Intent:

Los Angeles Times: OCC Trio Moving On

"An engineering major and National Football Foundation Scholar Athlete, Martin said his selection was based in large part on academic opportunities at UC Davis.

"He made a decision based on his future," Pirates Coach Kevin Emerson said. "I'm very proud of him."

Martin was also impressed by the enthusiasm of the UC Davis coaching staff, who continued to pursue the 6-foot-2, 300-pound lineman even after he sustained an injury.

"They kept that interest when they found out I had torn my knee up and stayed with me while I was rehabbing it," Martin said.

Hawkins is definitely hiring coaches with experience, and experience in top positions... Not first timers.

Who will be the OC? That is the biggie, and that person has to be OK with Hawk hiring his staff.

What killed the west coast offense?

I agree we need to juice up the O, become far less predictable, and use our SA intelligence to our advantage. I thought we had a good strategy vs Oregon, and that seemed to end. I'm sure Gould would argue losing 2 or 3 Centers was critical.

BTW, how many trick plays did we run this year, 1?

Does NDSU still run the option ?

    6'3", 300# center...go Ags!

... And Gould reportedly landed fast, talented WRs.

If I was a player I'd be excited.
