I was at both Idaho playoff games. Albany has a great defense, but the game was there for Idaho. They had a chance to win and let it slip out of their hands. Still a great season, and Coach Eck has been a breath of fresh air after Patrino.

What a great play that was, and he stays in to keep the clock going. Go Ags!

Bad decision by Hastings, great field position for PSU.
  • 2023 Week 6: Montana (4-1) @ UC Davis (3-2)
I was about to say "This is better."

There's your turnover. I'll stop yelling about the hold on the play.

Well, he did hit the guy in the hands.

    Nice, now pull the starters.

I was watching that game and remember the play. He and another DB hit the receiver, one from the front and one from behind. I thought the receiver would be the one who didn't get up, but instead it was our guy. I met him once at a party in 1983, I think. He was in a wheelchair. He had his service dog with him, and I remember he showed me how when he entered a room, the dog would turn on the lights with its nose. He was still a student then. I don't remember the last name, but 'Brent' sounds right to me. My wife might know, as she worked as an aide for several disabled folks while she was at Davis.

Heartbreaker for Idaho. Still a great season, especially after the Petrino years. I might get season tickets again.
  • Week 12: UC Davis (6-4) at Sac State (10-0)
Not our day. Credit to Sac State. They were well-coached and played a great game.

Waste of time and yards on that return,
  • Week 12: UC Davis (6-4) at Sac State (10-0)
Dodged a bullet there. Need Hastings to pick it up.

Really? Personal foul if you play without your helmet? I remember Bosworth doing that in '86 but I don't remember a penalty being called. Of course I was at Mr. B's for the game, so maybe that's why I don't remember much else.
  • Week 11: UC Davis (5-4) @ Idaho (6-3)
What a fun game! Went with a couple of friends, one of whom was at Davis when I was in the '80s, though we didn't know each other. It was fun to meet BaseballatDobbins and Boyd, and Boyd's son, who was all decked out in Aggie gear. I was surrounded by Larison's family and got to enjoy the game with them. Go Ags, beat Sac State!

Tubers? No, this is wheat and lentil country. BSU is in tuber country.

I'll add the Monarch to the list of places to stay. It's downtown and if you're up for a walk the Dome is about 15 minutes away. It's a beautiful campus and I always enjoy the walk. The folks who own the Monarch also own Nectar across the street and I think you get a free cocktail if you go there for dinner. Good food, this week they have Korean Fried Chicken and my wife and kids went there. Maialina is at 6th and Main and is a great pizza spot (and I love their steak and roast chicken too). In Pullman I recommend Birch and Barley on Bishop Street, not just because my daughter is a bartender manager there! BaseballatDobbins, the folks who own the Breakfast Club also own Birch. There's an excellent Chinese restaurant, Tan's, just past Birch, maybe a quarter mile. The regular menu is pretty standard, but there's a whiteboard by the cash register with other items, and they are great. We always order off that.

Lodgepole is on Main and First, and has wonderful food. You may need a reservation if you go there. One World Coffee is at Main and 6th, and is owned by friends of ours. If you don't want coffee you can get beer and wine there.

I'm going to be watching with a visiting prof at the law school who was at Davis when my wife and I were there in the '80s, but we had never met before. I'll be looking for BaseballatDobbins as we'll be sitting in the same area. Let us know if you make it.
