  • Doss To Chargers
Doss played 9 snaps (5 on offense and 4 on special teams) but did not get any stats. Sent back to the practice squad but might be back on the roster next game.
  • 2023 Recruits?
Does anyone know what the story is with Robby Beasley? Did not see him listed on the 2023-2024 roster.

Huge turnover in players, but the spring game was sold out (47,000+) and the season tickets have already sold out for the upcoming season.

Hopefully next year, Big West policy is changed. If you have to cancel a game, that should be an automatic forfeit. Injuries are part of the game. You play with the players you have available.

    That attendance level is sad.

I have a kid that attends Davis, very little marketing done by the university to get students to the basketball games. It should not be difficult, considering the size of the student population to have thousands come to the games.

In comparison to years past, limited outreach to the balance of the Davis community.

As a former season ticket holder, I was surprised that no one from the marketing department ask me why I did not renew my seats . . .

Looking at the players who committed to teams at the FBS level, I wonder if many of these athletes will be entering the portal in one or two years if they get limited (or no) playing time. By offering them an opportunity at Davis today, perhaps that provides a better opportunity to recruit them out of the portal in the future. Especially if they made a campus visit and connected with our coaching staff.
  • Week 10: Idaho State (1-7) @ UC Davis (4-4)
Although I do expect the Ags to win this one, one aspect of this game I will be watching is our defense's ability to contain the quarterback on 3rd and long. Hunter Hays does have the ability to escape the pocket and run for big gains. Perhaps not at the level of Montana State (or Sac), but something our defense is going to have to address for us to get into the playoffs and have a successful playoff run. If Hays can run wild during the game, that will not be a good sign for us going forward.
  • Week 9: Cal Poly (1-6) @ UC Davis (3-4) Battle for the Golden Horseshoe
Besides winning the next two games, I think the key to our playoff run (starting with Idaho) will be getting and keeping players healthy. In particular our O-line. Against CP, hopefully we can get the starters out of the game in the 3rd quarter . . . which also provides other players some good game experience.
