Great accolades for the program, but I think I would rather be rated lower down the list and prove them wrong.

Maier’s pass-catching corps will have much to prove in the wake of Doss’ departure, but it still features two key pieces that have the skillset to keep things rolling. Junior wideout Jared Harrell was the Aggies’ second-leading receiver in 2018, catching 62 passes for 896 yards and 5 touchdowns. He’ll be complemented by senior tight end Wes Preece, who had a breakout sophomore year in 2017 and tied Doss with nine receiving touchdowns last year.

I think athletics did a good job utilizing the available footprint. I hope they have a plan for a gathering place for the students, which i did not see addressed in the press release.

In my honest opinion I think the Aggies will be just fine. Hawkins and company have been doing very well in recruiting since they came in. I think Harrell will be ready to take over WR1 from Doss.

Agreed. I went to the first EW game. Frankly, I don't care to go back. It was freezing cold on those metal bench seats with that north wind coming out of Canada, and the fans were not so nice. I sat with a fella that sits behind me at the home games. I thought he was going to end up in a fist fight with the EW fan to his right. And I am not crazy about their coach. But give them credit, they can play football.

True, especially this early. But I was surprised to see EW at #7. I think that is what caught my eye. And to be honest, it might be better for the Aggies to be lower on the list. Teams like to get up for games when it appears they are the underdogs.

And what's cool about this is each tailgate spot is 30' long and additionally you get the real estate next to your spot on the stadium side. Finn and I have the premier location with lawn and shade trees included in our spot. But wait, there's more. Each tailgate spot will include (drum roll please) a first of its kind UC Davis Aggie shade structure!! Since Finn and I are sharing the same spot, we will be arm wrestling to see who keeps the shade structure. Finn, you better start lifting iron!

The top 5 on the Athlon ranking looks more realistic to me then HERO.

Look at the Katehi situation. The Bee will not let it rest. We have not heard (or read) the last of this.

I hold the Band-uh in high esteem. They have always represented a special part of UC Davis in my mind. Being such a public and visible organization, they need to keep their house "cleaner" then the general student population.

What does their org chart look like? I assume there are student leaders with administrative oversight? Is there a code of ethics beyond the principles of community for the Band-uh? And if road trips are not a sanctioned school activity, I am not sure how you can police that. Making good choices as an adult which are consistent with your personal values will keep you out of trouble. For example, if getting into a co-ed hot tub drunk and naked is not within your comfort zone, stay out of the hot tub!

I really like Jared Harrel. He has great hands and good moves. With Doss out of the mix, Harrel might be a star.
