  • Week 8: UC Davis @ Cal Poly

    Right they were.
I think the law was for a distance of one mile, but because of the size of the campus we had to go to the Mace blvd overpass area to buy liquor, one could get beer and wine in town.

I believe I saw Ford Parks back in the game later. The two tackles I don’t know.
One shortcoming of our broadcast team is they don’t remark on linemen much.
It was interesting to hear the pause while Marsh named Nico Sarale, as he checked the pronunciation guide. He is a sophomore who’s been on the team for four years.

Downtown adjacent to campus a huge plus for students. Being able to not have a car, no DUI risk.

I’ll toast Davis with an Amador county Zin. a Lodi Zin or a Dry Creek Zin I’m not snobby about appellations.

I had a friend in the dorms, who told me I had to see something that he thought was outstanding. He was a surfer from San Clamente, so he’s seen some beautiful scenery before. But the Sacramento River was beautiful to him.

He’s another of those 6ft guys who are too small that are the wave of the future.

Question For any basketball and other sportsfans out there ( I don’t follow].
Assuming we couldn’t get a deal like Hawaii and join as a football only member.
Is the Mountain West much better than the Big West? Would changing the football classification have any effect on other sports that are already D1 ? Do you think more or better athletes would join a Mountain West team in sports other than football. Aside from the negative of the increased travel are there any positives?
  • Week 7: Northern Colorado @ UC Davis
NAU freshman QB Martinez has made a difference.. 9 touchdowns one interception second best efficiency and third best yardage per game in BigSky.
  • FCS Polls After Week 7
At this point of the season season rankings by computer should not reflect last year. There is enough data from this year.
Sam Houston was lucky as hell to win their game against 3-3 unranked SFA. Any poll that doesn’t have NDSU and EWU ranked as top 2 is doing it wrong
And I agree 100% about Sac. They really use the two QBs as an advantage, I’m jealous.
  • FCS Polls After Week 7
I think Sam Houston State is over rated there. They haven’t played as tough a schedule as Eastern Washington, Eastern offense totally dominant, number 1 in FCS , and Eastern has two more wins.
  • Week 8: UC Davis @ Cal Poly

    Total Defense # 80
    Total Offense # 26
don’t really square with being a top 20 team, but scoring defense #14 does
  • FCS Polls After Week 7
    Sagarin ratings.
    132 Weber State 56.72
    133 UC Davis 56.55
    134 Sac State 55.60
    135 Arizona 55.42

    Close grouping
  • Week 7: Northern Colorado @ UC Davis
Have we played a class of 21 recruit a single down? On special teams? First year where we haven’t given players any experience since freshmen were allowed to play 4 games without using eligibility.
  • Week 7: Northern Colorado @ UC Davis
Should they try Darius Livingston as color commentor on radio /tv?
  • Week 7: Northern Colorado @ UC Davis
On defense we let a team a that was averaging under three yards a rush get 4.4.
We stop a good share of the runs near the line of scrimmage , and seem to defend the edge fairly well but runners get a lot of yards after contact if they get through the initial hole.
Passing game would be ok if we didn’t have the two interceptions. One was caused by trying to throw with no room the other was tipped by a lineman. Can’t judge Rodrigues harshly for the second.
I think we need to be a run heavy team. Its odd that our linemen who’ve been pass blocking for years seem better at run blocking now.
  • Week 7: Northern Colorado @ UC Davis
Let’s see our freshman running back
  • Week 7: Northern Colorado @ UC Davis
Anyone notice who is playing offensive tackle for us? Did either of the starters come back, not that they were distinguishing themselves
    I see Rachow and Banks
