might have to wait until February to know what the class make up is.
Remember last year. some of the main additions were not early signing day.
  • Looking Forward to 2019
Unless I’m mistaken all our QBs are 6’ to 6’2” with most being 6’ , so if he’s truly 5’11”, big deal no big deal.
  • Looking Forward to 2019
What is the objective evidence that he is the most athletic? Not doubting it but what is the evidence?
  • Looking Forward to 2019
whoever takes over at QBs will likely be more mobile than Maier. Let’s let the QBs battle to determine the successor
  • Football Stadium Expansion
Wow, we identified the hot stadium fix. That was easy. A lot easier for us to fix the hot stadium than for Eastern Washington to fix their cold one,
  • Football Stadium Expansion
Does anyone remember perhaps 10 ft long spider parachutes drifting through the stadium lights?
Maybe that’s still a common valley occurrence?
  • Football Stadium Expansion
When I was a student the 7PM game times fit well with student life In the dorms everyone did their thing during the day and then walked over to Toomey, after dinner. The whole experience seemed more festive than day games.
I can see why fans remote from Davis prefer an earlier game. So split the difference, have September / early October games, after school starts, at night, partly due to heat issues and partly to get some new students involved.
  • Turning down the playoffs for an FCS bowl game...
One take-away from this is that the tv networks pay relatively more for a near meaningless lower tier FCS “bowl game” than they do for a FCS playoff game, or at least the schools and conferences involved get more profit. Why?
  • Turning down the playoffs for an FCS bowl game...
They have their niche and they are sticking to it.
In 1977 Davis played Bethune Cookman in the D2 playoffs and won easily before playing Lehigh and losing in the semis
  • Looking Forward to 2019
Good. It will be interesting receiver competition if everyone is healthy.
  • Looking Forward to 2019
The UNI color commentator after watching our offense for a couple of series said “what wide receiver wouldn’t want to play here
However, We need at least two deep threats at wide receiver and three good receivers for our offense. We were running out of WRs by the EW game, and we lose a couple to graduation. Will Logan Montgomery be back next year? Is Vaughn ok?
  • Looking Forward to 2019

My unscientific observation is that 3-4 teams tend to have bigger defensive ends and smaller middle linebackers than 4-3 teams. But it varies.
The thing about the DL is we only added two recruits last year. You have to average more than that if you want to have depth . Same with running back only had Facey as a walk-on. Both DL and RB are wear and tear positions
  • Looking Forward to 2019
Nice that we can rationally imagine beating anyone on our schedule any given Saturday. Cal is a long shot but we are not prohibitive underdogs like we were against Stanford this year.
  • Looking Forward to 2019
Funny that the article talks about how rare it is for the power 5 conferences to take an FCS coach and then list his competition as all lower profile FBS schools like Troy, Memphis and North Texas. FBS vs FCS is just a letter when your comparing North Dakota State to those schools.
  • Ugh. Heartbreaking defeats in Aggie history
1973 last second loss to Boise State at Toomey field 32-31. Thanksgiving weekend. We had thought team might make playoffs but found out we were out and Boise was in so this was last game. Got out to a big lead but couldn’t get a pass rush against their much larger offensive line. boise went on in the D2 playoffs beat South Dakota, lost to Louisiana Tech. Jim Speck, true freshman from Davis High threw for 419 yards for Aggies.
  • FCS Playoffs Quarterfinals: UC Davis @ Eastern Washington v2.0
It sure looked like the players were frozen stiff on defense at end of game.
  • FCS Playoffs Quarterfinals: UC Davis @ Eastern Washington v2.0
Jaylin White it was who hit his head on the turf. Played in only four games this year. I would guess he redshirted after injury, Never started again after injury
  • Looking Forward to 2019
perhaps it’s a good thing for our smallish defense that their 290lb blocking fullback is graduating. They do still have some big guys.
