yeah probably that and they apparently love Gilliam.
So after puttting up good rushing numbers against Sac last year and San Jose this year, do you think we’ve got a good running game? Hopefully this will again be the case against San Diego.

I listened to the entire stream and they may have speculated that but they didn’t say it, it was more along the lines of them thinking they see his number on the sidelines.
His status is obviously a noteworthy issue.
I would have liked them to note the three first time starters on the offensive line and comment on how the line was doing with the new starters
  • Week 2: San Diego @ UC Davis
    I understand the partisanship.
It would have been nice to hear the starting lineup, and some commentary there on,
Maybe it was in a portion not streamed but I had to wait until the final stats were posted to see who played; if they didn’t touch the ball or make a tackle they weren’t noted. Exactly what does our color commenter from UCLA bring to the broadcast?
  • Week 2: San Diego @ UC Davis
I believe the radio announcers thought he was on the sidelines suited up. But as usual they left room for doubt; one thing you can say about the radio team is they aren’t too informative. Maybe someone at the game looked for him?
  • Offensive line play in the Big Sky
There’s that also. The game featured phases. Before the QB change our defense had the better of it against San Jose. After the QB change they consistently moved the ball, but our defense rose to the occasion a few times.
  • Offensive line play in the Big Sky
I see your point regarding the defense; but in their favor they had two interceptions, s fumble recovery and forced six punts. When you have an offense running without a huddle and scoring on multiple possessions in a about a minute off the clock you can’t judge the defense just by yards allowed. They got the ball back for the offense without allowing a score multiple times.
  • Week 2: San Diego @ UC Davis
Only fair, why should a 35-7 loss to a previously unranked team knock a team off the list?
    Polls are meaningless this early
  • Week 2: San Diego @ UC Davis
I don’t know, but maybe someone else does. I definitely feel we need two quality tailbacks so I hope he gets his chance
  • Week 2: San Diego @ UC Davis
Who would have picked the Ags to win with three esentially riokie offensive linemen, although Richardson played in one game last year, and also playing without Logan Montgomery and Tehran Thomas?
  • Week 2: San Diego @ UC Davis
We had two tackles and a guard who were making their first startColton Lamson, Jake Parks and Kooper Richardson
  • Rule Change: Redshirts can now play in up to 4 games!
yep, be open minded about it.
When they lose to teams like Cincinnati you see the need for selectivity,
  • Rule Change: Redshirts can now play in up to 4 games!
crazy move. Had to go a year without scholarship, that has to be costly. Wish him well, now will some UCLA player please transfer here?
  • Week 2: San Diego @ UC Davis
Portland State looked respectable in losing to bad FBS teams, whereas we won against a bad FBS team. There’s a big difference.
It will be interesting to see what happens with San Jose this season, They were obviously not prepared for our offense. I think players had that attitude the media covering their team had that we were just a tune up
  • Week 2: San Diego @ UC Davis
last year it was 14-7 in the second half we went for it on fourth down and Justin Williams ran 72 yards for a TD. Their coach if I recall, blamed himself, I think they called a blitz.
But you are right it was more onesided than I recalled in the stats.
  • Week 2: San Diego @ UC Davis
this is a a different kind of challenge, but will be equally telling in evaluating our team. SD isnt as unsettled as San Jose and will be ready to play. Last year the game was more competitive than the score would indicate. They are probably anxious for a do over.
  • Week 1: UC Davis @ San Jose State
somehow because were 15 miles out of their city limits we’re not the hometown team, and we aren’t significant because we’re not the PAC 12, and even if we were we’re not Cal or Stanford. So basically nothing in the Bee. The the Enterprise covers high school and the university about the same, and covers all the minor sports together in a level similar to football. The University should promote some coverage on the site, get students to write content. Etc. We have no real newspaper coverage so we need to promote web content
  • Week 1: UC Davis @ San Jose State

The sky is falling because they lost to FCS. Stanford lost to us in 2005 and one of their players said something along the lines of “well they are a pretty good football team” and then I think he was sent to a re-education camp.
So what if we were picked ninth in the big sky? No one should believe that stuff as it’s based on next to nothing. Example; Even among those who try to follow the team, almost none of us expected Gilliam to play much less be any good. The voters in those polls don’t know much except how the teams played over the years
  • Week 1: UC Davis @ San Jose State
The reason the authors gave that they were going to win came down to FBS vs FCS. Also they had to win because the next two were games were next to impossible.
None of that had relevance to whether they would beat us. Might have talked about what their pass rush was, could they cover, can their young guys understand what they need to do.
Instead they were going to thump us because they are FBS. Still have to play. An extra 20 scholarships are not definitive in a sport where you only need 50 to play.
  • Week 1: UC Davis @ San Jose State
It’s a big deal because it makes more people aware of what you already acknowledge, which is there is an overlap between bad FBS teams and good FCS teams. If we lose games like this it cements the image of UCD as minor league. Also remember that NDSU started by beating teams like Ball State
  • Week 1: UC Davis @ San Jose State
This is a big win. Its good to win in California. Before this game we heard they were going to dominate.
Now we've changed some opinions about us and FCS.
Some recruits, the smart ones, will choose between us and San Jose, and they'll make a better choice.
