At 6'7 and 215 he looks like he may be a wider body than Goode and looks like he'll certainly score more. He hasn't put up big numbers in international play...12.7 ppg and 7 rebounds per game but he is shooting around 40% so that will be good for us since Garrison really doesn't look to score much. I expect he'll be a bit raw and will find the American game faster and more physical and he will need to time to adjust just like we're seeing with Caleb Fuller.

I'm still hoping we'll see Les bring a a legitimate big man...6'9+...that is agile in the paint to give us an inside presence so we aren't so perimeter oriented and one dimensional.

At least he likes dark beer but he won't like that the drinking age in California is 21!

Before you take the time to get caught up here's a little friendly advise: sit down, think good thoughts, breathe and brace yourself before you look at how we are playing this year... :groan:

Welcome to AST. I have a feeling that we might just hang with Cal next year. Could be a great birthday celebration with your son!

I certainly hope that Tehran Thomas is on the road to recovery. That appeared to be a very serious concussion. I don't think I've ever seen the medical staff take that long before getting a player to their feet after getting concussed. Concussions like that can sometimes have long lasting effects.

I've been thinking about him. He's not only a very talented RB but he also seems to be a amazing young man as well. I know the medical privacy rules prevent anyone from commenting on injuries but it really does leave concerned fans hanging.

When the ref made the the unsportsmanlike call on the field he looked like he was confused. Then I saw Best lecturing #72 for EWU I thought the same thing...WTF... The officials upstairs chose not to review the Crawford catch so they blew that one too. Two big goof ups by the officials...

    That would be awesome!

The spectacular catch you mentioned was definitely a catch and absolutely should have been reviewed. The EWU coach and everyone else on their sideline were vehemently waving that the receiver was out of bounds. They weren't protesting the catch...control was maintained..they thought he was out of bounds at the time he made the catch but the replay showed that was not true. Spilt milk now but we got robbed by the replay officials not doing their job and taking a look at it and in a game that was this tight that was significant.

I think all the former Aggie coaches are smiling from wherever they are...

It looks like Jen Gross has made some adjustments with this team on both offense and defense. The Ags have shot poorly from 3 all season long and today we were only 3-14. Instead of letting he troops fire away freely from downtown, like the 8-40 at Montana, she had the team pounding the ball inside and driving the lane along with pushing the ball in transition whenever we got a chance. The result was 18 assists and 46 points in the paint and lots of trips to the foul line.

The Ags are pressing more on defense too and creating TO's. I think this team responds better to aggressive defense and it, in turn, spurs the offensive flow. We were more active going to the boards today and had 12 offensive boards and 13 second chance points as well.

I like the changes and the energy I saw today. We haven't shown that we are a team that light up the nets from 3 and the changes we saw today paid off.
