  • Week 7: Homecoming vs. Idaho State
This is the second home game to have a 4 pm kickoff in the heat of the day. The first 4 pm start, against Idaho on September 22, was dictated by Pluto tv and there was nothing the athletic department could do about. The high temperature that day was 92 degrees which was very hot for anyone sitting on the east side with the sun in their eyes too. No one wants to bake in 92 degree heat with no shade with the sun directly in their eyes.

The forecast for the ISU game is sunny with a high of 88 degrees which is 10 degrees above the historical average. So even though the high temperature is predicted to be a few degrees cooler it will still be uncomfortably hot on the east side with the sun impairing the view. Consequently, we'll be seeing fans chasing every bit of shade they can find in the stadium.

Aggie Stadium is a really nice venue but these terrible start times in the heat of the day are detrimental to our attendance. These hotter than average temperatures are likely to continue in the years to come as the climate continues to heat up each year.

The football program is on the rise and we have a legitimate shot at contending for the Big Sky Championship and a possible playoff berth. The team and the fans deserve to play in front of a full house but these awful start times are not helping us get fans in the seats. Scheduling games in the heat of the day needs to end.

Just keep winning one game at a time. If we can do that and get into the playoffs it would be great. If we then got to host a playoff game it would be awesome!

I agree with getting everyone some playing time if possible. They practice all week long just like the starters and deserve to get in the game when possible. It gives players who have gone unnoticed a chance to shine also and maybe work themselves into more PT. I would, however, liked to have seen Hawk stop the bleeding before it got under a 2 score game. That was a little too close for comfort IMO.

Hahaha...my true bias has shown up! We'd be in trouble if we only played 40 minutes of good football! Fixed it...

That's a good deal...I bought my tickets a few days ago and they were $28.

How ironic...we just got more ESPN coverage than we ever have and it's about a 7 minute defensive meltdown. I hope movielover is right and the Ags, as a result of this, will come out on highly motivated against ISU, play a WHOLE 60 minutes of good football and make a strong statement that we are the real deal.

My wife doesn't drink beer...wine and an occasional cocktail but no beer. I've tried my best to introduce her to one of the good life's true pleasures but, after 41 years of being together, it ain't gonna happen. Me..."I drank beer with my friends, I liked beer, I still like beer..."

So does anyone know if a non-beer drinker has to buy a Brewfest ticket to enter the beer area if they will not be tasting the beers? She's willing to wonder around with me as I try a few but not if she has to buy a ticket.

Statistically, this game is a toss-up:

ISU is ranked #7 in offense @ 42.2 ppg and the Ags are #9 @ 40.2 ppg

Defensively, the Ags and the Bengals are tied at #60 and both have allowed 29.2 ppg

I agree. I think this is one of those things where, if you're new to the party, they sit back and wait to see if you're the real deal or just an upstart pretender. If you are a team with a good amount of history in the FCS playoffs and the polls, you pretty much get free entry until you really flop.

A lot of people will be taking notice of this game and I actually think this is the most important game in we've had to date in our D1 history. A solid win will convince a lot of folks that we are a legitimate power in the FCS.
  • Week 6: Big Sky
I've been in Brown County (southern Indiana near Bloomington) during the fall and it is stunningly beautiful. The colors were just beginning to turn in northern Wisconsin while we were just back there in mid September.

The anygivenday.com FCS football forum has a poll going for the Game of the Week and the ISU @ UC Davis game is currently leading the voting. It's easy to join the forum if anyone is interested and then you could vote for this game too. This is the best forum for FCS football and has the most dedicated and knowledgeable members.
