  • MBB UC Davis (5-3) at Idaho State (7-5), Sunday Dec. 21, 3 pm, on ESPN+
I was very impressed with Franklin. For a player who has had almost zero playing time, he was confident and in control. Got to the bucket very well.

We could use that boost in confidence with Omar and Stokes. Both are talented, but they don’t seem very confident right now. Stokes could really help with points around the bucket, Omar from the outside.

I fear our Achille’s heel with be lack of depth at the center spot. We give up too many second chance points in the paint, especially with Niko on thd bench

Some big buckets and good defense (and sideshow Bob coming back down to earth) snd we put away a really nice win!

Their 11-23 from the Arc got them back in. They got a frosh with zero 3’s and he is 3-3. 84-78 4:22 to go.

Officiating in the second half has been really tight. Rocek is gone

Offense has slowed down alot in second half - I think they are clogging the middle snd not respecting our deep shooting. Still up 12 with 12 to go

Up 50-35 at the half. 2-10 from 3 ( both by Chappell),; decent shooting there are we would really be in good shape. Most aggressive I’ve seen us on offense getting good shots in the paint. 9-10 from FT and 3-10 turnover difference is the story of the half.

38-29 with 3:30 in half. Playing well except for 3 pointers (2-11). Les has played 11 guys so far; Franklin gave them a nice spark. Plating much more aggressive.
  • 2025 FCS Playoffs
just heard a holding call on Josh Gale - kind of forgot he was playing for Montana.

I think the bottom 3 will remain that way throughout the season, snd sneaking into the top 4 will be very difficult.

I booked a room in Henderson so I would to hate to have to cancel if we somehow slipped into that bottom 3!
  • MBB UC Davis (5-3) at Idaho State (7-5), Sunday Dec. 21, 3 pm, on ESPN+
This would be a big victory - Les didn’t schedule easy coming out of finals so it would be great to salvage one win before the tuneup next Sunday vs Pacific Union.
  • MBB: Seattle (8-2) at UC Davis (5-4), Wednesday Dec. 17, 6:00 pm, ESPN+

we had a pretty good angle on the play (and could see the replays on radio broadcasts screens) and that was bad, especially given the circumstances. On radio Les said maybe they could have fouled earlier to take away any chance of a call like that but you don’t want to give them too much time to set up. Radio guys were stunned. BLUEGoldAg was beside himself!

As AgAlum pointed out, make FTs and we win. And second chance points killed us, especially after a really good defensive effort.

my 92-year old mom was down Sunday for an early Christmas with grandkids and asked ‘what does this 6-7 thing mean?’

    ‘It doesn’t mean anything, gramma’

‘Yes, but, what does it mean?’

This went on for about 10 minutes.

Unfortunately, we’re going up against the 68 Ventures Bowl tonight and that will put a dent in attendance!

thanks. I thought I heard that the most of the grad transfers didn’t but maybe because they didn’t finish their degree until end of spring.

I don’t think transfers are allowed to participate in spring ball, but that may have been with the later portal dates. Maybe it was just the grad transfers who couldn’t since they can only enroll in the fall?
  • MBB: Seattle (8-2) at UC Davis (5-4), Wednesday Dec. 17, 6:00 pm, ESPN+
Oddsmakers have us an underdogs from 2.5 to 4.5 points. The one i read that had us at 4.5 underdog had their best bet as take Seattle and give the points -> they were stressing our last game as a strong reason for that.

We'll be there tonight; not expecting a big crowd.

I can answer the last one -> it will be in April again.
  • Conner brothers eligibility lawsuit
    ↪69aggie
I believe the gist of the lawsuit has to do with their potential future earnings that losing a year takes away.

I can’t figure how the NCAA can say ‘oh yeah, JC play now doesn’t count’ but toes the line on a situation like this.

yesterday really seemed bad. I just caught a glimpse of ESPN reporting on it - looked like a non contact injury covering a punt.
  • UC Davis alum Teddye Buchanan named NFL defensive rookie of the month
Teddye tore his ACL yesterday vs Cincinnati. Big blow fit Raven’s playoff hopes.

  • Conner brothers eligibility lawsuit
At Plough's last lunch, he said the NCAA sited precedence about (i think) a volleyball player in a similar situation. What's crazy to me is that the NCAA's stance on eligibility seems so fluid in most cases, but so rigid here. Last year, they decided that JC years didn't count because a player threatened a lawsuit. What's the justification besides trying to avoid a lawsuit?

That being said....if Rex's injury was an ACL, how confident should we be that we would be physically ready for next season?
