Nobody has brought up the Bakersfield blunder at the end : hit a bucket with 0:22 to go to get to 1 and……..don’t foul until 0:05. Pepper’s FTs essentially ended it there. Coach didn’t seem to be trying to get them to foul until about 8 seconds to go. In fact, Pepper stood alone for 3-4 seconds just before the foul. Seemed like a brain fart.

Thursday matchup with UCSB is a big one. We’re 4-3, they are 4-5 and only 2 teams with a reasonable chance at 6 seed (first round bye). Our final week in the road is tougher than their final week, so getting more cushion with a win would be huge.

we were sitting just above the training table and they were working hard to stop the bleeding in his mouth. Nothing dirty - just bad luck of where he was when the guy came down.

He almost got beat by their offensive rebounds. Way too many second chances points, especially after good defensive stops.

My only nit was Angiwe sitting most of the game after Stith fouled out. Seems like he could have helped at the basket Shem their little guy kept going to the hoop. Manjon never got help

I’m with you on the character of this team. They really fought tonight through some offensive slumps and made stops to pull ahead. That little guard at the end was unstoppable and unflappable! Watching him and Manjon go at it was fun.

Also agree on the fouls. The 4th on Msnjon, offensive with the wrap about after getting bumped, was an odd call at a crucial time. Glad the FTs down the stretch sealed it

they can look to Squire for a ‘grass not always greener’ case. Playing 27 minutes (about the same as here),, averaging 10 a game (similar) for a 8-17 Portland State team in 7th in the Big Sky. Had would have really helped us

from what I’ve seen, 7 healthy players are required. I think we played one with 7 of our normal guys suited, along with one other guy I couldn’t identify (redshirt? Walk on?)

Since our short handed games featured our 5 starters and 2 key reserves, you’d have to think effected players include a few of those 7. Hopefully, they were too effected by the virus.

I’m expecting a sloppy effort from us from lack of activity. Hope I’m wrong. Looking forward to standing in the long concession line!
