i often have that reaction to any of the student-athletes that Scott interviews. Last week was Kim Conley (former cross country star); in the past Daniel Descalso and Brynton Lemar were guests. All very well spoken with nothing but great things to say about their Davis experience. And the poster-person is Jen Gross -> that interview was really good.
  • Week 2: #23 UC Davis @ #2 Weber State
Huge challenge this week. Weber has been the class of the conference for the past years, and we haven’t competed that well the last couple times. Jay Hill really turned it around. They were at the bottom before he got there. Since? 47-30, and 45-20 if you toss out his first season (2-10) with Jody Sears leftovers.

Scott does a really good job with these podcasts, especially the non-sports ones (find the Gary May episode). He’s very knowledgeable about the women’s program.

I’m always puzzled when the one seed plays the brunch tip-off. Men did that a few years back and struggled with their first game
  • Big West Tournament
I watched a few minutes of Bakersfield v irvine and UCSB. They looked athletic and long. Didn’t shoot lights out in the small sample size I caught. This is a pretty tough matchup.

for home games, radio is Greg Wong and DK. TV is Scott Marsh and Scott Barry.

I’m guessing doing these remote broadcasts are a challenge. Marsh has several under his belt from basketball

we won at least one regular season championship. Lost to Hawaii in the tourney

    yep, that’s what I read

Nice blounceback win. Anigwe was big down the stretch, as was Manjon. Pepper is just solid. We should get a top 4 seed
  • MBB: Hawai`i vs. UC Davis, Saturday March 6 at 2 pm
Heck of a first half, closing the half on a 8-0 run. Up 36-30 with scoring spread out over a bunch of guys

we are their best choice after they bailed out of MWC. I think at one point they looked at independent for football and that led them to BWC for other sports
  • Week 1: UC Davis @ Idaho
Let’s give some credit to the young coordinators. Great adjustments at the half. Nice we got adjusted to game speed we really took charge.

elles field in Antioch? I assume it was tough since we went for 2 e dry time for my 3 years! Maybe we needed a kicker like you
  • Week 1: UC Davis @ Idaho
    Weird place to kick
  • Week 1: UC Davis @ Idaho
Ughhh. I’ve never a fan of a trick play when the offense is clicking. It’s up there with a team rushing up to snap fast on 4th and short after a long drive!
  • Week 1: UC Davis @ Idaho
Offense got a boost from the backup RB - the rodeo guy

I think a big thing is we were limited to 25 guys at a practice until 2 weeks ago. Hard to simulate game action that way
  • WBB: March 5/6 UC Davis (9-1, 8-0 Big West) at Hawai'i (7-6, 6-5 Big West)
I feel like the Big West is adjusting schedules to make this format easier on away teams; except Hawaii. I wish they would find a new conference. I don’t see what they add and the impact of travel there is a big deal
  • Week 1: UC Davis @ Idaho
10-7 at half and we get the ball to start, correct?
  • Week 1: UC Davis @ Idaho
Horrible tackling. Everybody is so high on their hits
