Tarleton has the max potential to run away with it if they get hot - they can be extremely explosive offensively, and I was impressed how they handled UND defensively, they were very physical and looked well prepared.

Interesting that HC at Tarleton Todd Whitten is in his 3rd stint at the University there. They must have a very solid relationship. The 'Slow Mesh RPO' offense they run is unique at most levels of football...I think in D1 only Wake Forest runs a similar concept. We've seen Plough run a couple of variations of it with Pinnick, especially on goal line, when we pop to the Tight End, but it isn't the core philosophy of the Offense.

You are correct about the cell service - it's impossible to post anything inside.

Appreciate your service too - got in a relatively polite verbal argument at the game with a lady next to me who was bashing the Salute to Heroes montage during the game as something "we're only do because we're on ESPN tonight."

Brought my Uncle, who is US Army retired to the Sac State game, and I thought it was Salute to Heroes night, but there was really no ceremony or acknowledgment all game during Causeway, so was glad to see it on Saturday vs. Rhody.

Yeah me too, none of those make sense to me - even Montana State looked a little vulnerable vs. Yale -- though Vigen kept it very vanilla all game.

Nova's at 12.8% after squeaking by Lehigh?

Wasn't he committed to BYU? The Cougars are shelling out that kind of dough for Ryder Lyons -- and mind you he won't start competing for a starting job until 2028 after mission.

Keep pushing everyone - Bay Area, Bay Area, Bay Area - get carpools and vans lined up - we should have organized buses for crying out loud for Aggie fans.

Arguing about restrictive tailgate rules vs. just getting people to show up to tailgate - not the worst problem to have.

RB Julius Davis at Montana State is playing in his 7th year of college football. Call Bozeman and get their lawyers to give us some pointers. His first redshirt year was in 2019 at Wisconsin for God's sake.

    Spending that money wisely.
  • Attendance

I got two or three calls during the week, already had my ticket (and more) so yeah, they're trying, hard.

This is the Fall 2025 Finals Schedule at Davis:
    https://registrar.ucdavis.edu/registration/register-for-classes/finals

Last season Hastings took a final the day before he played a Quarterfinal FCS Football game, catching a flight, what, the afternoon before...to South Dakota? Glad we're at home, but we have to work and get these finals taken care of, get the bodies healthy and get the packages installed and drilled if we're going to beat Illinois State. As a program that prides itself and recruits on the "UC Davis Degree" we're going to have to learn how to navigate this part of the year.

Moroski's College of Idaho Yotes took on mighty Montana Tech yesterday in the Quarterfinals of the NAIA Playoffs - they ruined the Diggers' perfect season and will next face Keiser University in West Palm Beach, FL on Saturday, Dec. 13:

Somebody can look up the rule, but I want to say that if you kick it over the goal post, like Hunter did, and in the refs estimation the ball crosses the plane of the goal post at any point by rule you call it a miss. That's the only explanation I can come up with, because it sure looked close to slightly inside the upright from the camera feeds, but we did not see directly under the goal post for the definitive look.

I will say Hunter did miss that field goal, but he was kicking the snot out of the ball last night. His leg looks very strong, and that could be huge for us next Saturday.

I was watching the Bobcat radio broadcast feed while getting some work done yesterday before the game. After Montana State secured the win there were some fireworks on the sideline between 7th year RB Julius Davis and HC Brent Vigen:

I don't have any insider information, but man, that is not a program that resides in trust, unity and togetherness if they let one player get that pissed off over literally nothing. FWIW, Adam Jones has been Davis' committee RB partner for the majority of the season. You watch Davis, and given his pedigree, maybe he wants the bulk of the carries and he's getting frustrated.

Quite pleased with the broadcast, the atmosphere in the feed was great, and they put Davis in a good light. I think the team needs to get used to there being more cameras around and it being more for the refs to draw from on close calls - the reviews are going to happen, be prepared accordingly.
