  • Montana, Montana State opt out of spring FCS championship season
The entire building structure was likely preplanned for assembly and the timing was mapped out in 4 hour intervals, first sequence before lunch, 2nd sequence after. Structural steel has become very streamlined, which it needs to be in order to stay competitive because material costs can be so high, fabrication also has slowly started to get streamlined with all these new laser/water jet and automated CNC, milling, lathe, grinding and welding systems which are slowly becoming the norm.... all passing QC at a 100% clip. Let's hope they don't start making a bunch of T-800's, ha ha ha

So, if all this timing is correct, we've had a missed season, a partial "off-season", lose our OL Coach and our OC to Boise, and will be playing Cal Poly about 1 month thereafter. Oh, and no fans, strict COVID protocols that will leave teams without key players week-to-week. No wonder teams are not participating in this spring season. Makes you want to just wait for vaccine rounds to hit the mainstream then see about a proper fall season.

Based on this, we still don't have an OL Coach replacement.

Is radio going to call play by play, I guess that's another question.

I would wager that will be the case. Not sure if they'll allow small tailgate groups to listen in on their own around the stadium, who knows. Seems reasonable that a certain amount of fans (maybe 1000 or 2000) can space out properly to watch a game.

About time, looking forward to the looks, I think Baldwin will have Poly sneaking up on a lot of teams. Not a ton of game film on them year 1, hell of an opportunity to blitzkrieg the Sky.

In all honesty, it's not entirely unexpected that from the top down, we really have no fool proof plan on how to issue out the vaccine efficiently. Heck, we run a tight-knit, fairly well oiled construction company here with +/- 75 employees full time, we get things wrong all the time, now multiply that by about 4 million, and that's the level of process. I think the election in November clouded priorities for everyone...it's unfortunate, and like I said politics corrode everything. As a movie Senator once said, "Half the things I do are for political survival."

I just hope there's an exponential learning curve, and things are tightened up as they go. Typically, that is the case. Revisit the scenarios later and take the lessons learned.

Now a question to everybody, I myself am an engineer, builder and a pseudo-scientist...do y'all trust the vaccines? They were developed rather quickly comparatively to most. (reports of people refusing...etc. etc.)

They were probably too busy bashing the the vaccine effort rather than preparing for its eventual rollout. I hate politics...it corrodes everything.
