• Week 4: Stetson at UC Davis
As a member in good standing of the 'Pedantic Old Farts Association' I am required to invoke my fading and increasingly inaccurate memories of the Ron Van de Pol / Bobby Biggs and Dan Carmazzi /Jim Speck QB controversies of ancient times. There were several others in the decades since but I was front
    .
LOL. Are charter memberships in the association still available? I realize by invoking “LOL” I may have disqualified myself. Never saw Biggs QB but did see Speck.

Yeah his post game presser was deflating. I’m sure it’s hard after a tough loss like that but he seemed defeated and dismissive
After watching his presser, I immediately thought he had been coached by Bobby Hauck on how to respond to questions. I am sure that after last year’s success and portal offer - it is hard to struggle in this new arena and expectations especially when competition stiffens. It would have been better for the coach to have lined up another player to take questions in this situation as it wasn’t a good look for Caden. Hopefully things will improve for him and he’ll be more mature at doing these things in the future. I also have to wonder if he getting the same attention and coaching as he received under Plough.

that was a great game. Glad you could be there. I kind of hope Oregon State puts Montana (and their fans) in their place. Will be interesting.
  • Week 4: Stetson at UC Davis
I’m not even talking about the balls down the field that aside from one against usd he hasn’t looked good at either
Cleeland made several good throws down the field against Portland State and more than one against USD. And that was another very good long ball under pressure at USD that was dropped by the tight end. Yes Cleeland had a bad second quarter at SMU. Kollock will get some time against Stetson, but saying the one very good long throw at SMU somehow should elevate him over Cleeland at this point is pretty reactionary (not saying you were the one to say this). I trust Plough to make decisions as to QB.
  • Week 4: Stetson at UC Davis
agree totally with your analysis. Cleeland is more mobile than Kollock and you don’t bench a guy after a not so good outing against the SMU first string. I suspect he will be less pressing against the lower competition level and will re-calibrate.

Kollock will get playing time against Stetson. Ploughs post game presser about needing 2QBs as evidenced last year was a pretty clear reference to last years No. Co. game when QB1 is unavailable. Switching QBs is the Bobby Hauck protocol of mess up once and your pulled. That didn’t work very well for him in 2024.
  • Big Sky Games Week 3
Choate cannot recruit a quarterback. Nevada without a passing game and Bobcats are looking like they will take this game.
  • 2026 Week 3: UC Davis @ SMU
Kollack had a nice pass and looked good against the 2-3 defense of SMU but 1 pass and late game action will not determine or cause a QB change. I still think Cleeland moves better and is a bit more coordinated/athletic. Yes he has some bad throws but the first string defense of SMU will get a young QB rattled. He seemed to be too amped up on his throws similar to first half of Portland State.

    only if it’s Wyoming haha.
  • 2026 Week 3: UC Davis @ SMU
classic impatient fan who’s favorite player is always QB 2. It’s his fthird game against one of the best teams in the country. He’ll learn. SMU atjleticism is something else.
  • 2026 Week 3: UC Davis @ SMU
How nice to have a kicker who can blast it out of the end zone. Maybe the Ags should have a bruiser kick off.
  • 2026 Week 3: UC Davis @ SMU
Kick not close. Maybe nerves but didn’t follow through. Looked like my golf shot.

    Gbatu looking good.
  • 2026 Week 3: UC Davis @ SMU
    NC State 73
    Richmond 0
    Payout $400,000
Only $5,479 per point differential from Richmond perspective.
Plus a 2 hour delay due to a storm cell sitting over the stadium. Similar to Montgomery except the game was completed. Lousy game for ESPN to air with likely little viewership - felt sorry for announcers trying to make it interesting.

@movielover and later in - 86 with Chris Peterson.

exas heat is much like Central Valley heat. Not humid like here in the Carolinas.
. Well as of now the dewpoint is the same in Dallas as in the Raleigh, NC area (65). 100 degrees vs. 95 here. Kind of reminds me of the bear at the Tulsa game. That was epic with the win there. SMU is much better.
  • 2026 Week 3: UC Davis @ SMU
@Pacifico2 noted what I also saw when watching
SMU VS FSU - SMU speed is something else. I do think you want to give them your best shot (I remember watching the Ags play a top 10 Boise State team and being in the game until the fourth quarter). I don’t expect that here, but you can’t go into a game with a don’t get hurt and just take a paycheck and go home mentality. I think coaches decisions on pulling guys will depend on how things play out. Of course we hope to avoid injuries - but also be at least somewhat respectable.

from what I saw Cleeland had the better footwork and looked more athletic and sure than Kollock although of course small sample size for Kollack. Good to have a highly regarded no. 2 in wings though. Biggs had some interesting input on QB play in the Aggie pride after game podcast.

it won’t be on ESPN+. You would need the ESPN unlimited package which is a different beast. It’s on the ACC network so would need ESPN unlimited or another streaming service that carries that or the ACC network. Personally I get that with sling and sports extra. Either sling orange and sports extra add-on or sling orange and blue with sports extra add-on.
