• Sacramento Kings star Mike Bibby to become Sacramento State's men's basketball coach
it is mostly a figurehead position in college basketball at the moment, like Trae young as Oklahoma GM, and Curry at Davidson. Shaq sure is busy with being an analyst, sheriff, and now GM. Lol.

#3. Go Lan. Go Ags. I think he will do well with the Pats. I wished my 49ers signed him.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
yes. Some of it is that it’s in NIL. But I see many of their new transfers came from questionable past and are taking a little less now and being told to go to sac to rehab their image and improve their NIL next year and leave. Their coach has hinted as much in previous interviews.
Sac state is now 2nd chance U with rental players(not students) will stay only 1 year.
I don’t not like that college football is becoming the NFL with less regulation and kids changing schools yearly.

Exactly, this means that UCD athletics alone has consistently raised more than the whole sac state university for their “give day”. So much for their big deep pocketed donors/sponsors tripping over themselves to give sac state football their Money.

UCD total give day was almost 4.5 million

agree. I respect coach Les and think he is a great guy. But we need some change and excitement in MBB.

if true. Then kudos to sac. Glad they are building some excitement. Hopefully they continue to succeed and not fumble at the end.

No pics of 7k, so probably didn’t happen. Their propaganda team likely counted every person who went to campus that day including people going to class/etc.

he and his team of fake social Influencers are the ones giving fake info and propaganda to build up fake excitement to get more $ and conference invite.

I think he meant the beginning of construction will begin in 2026 or 2027. But even then he is now starting his back track of doing phase 1 of lights/bathroom this year and next phase “most likely” next year. In reality he probably has $0 for it yet and hopes to build some excitement with all his propaganda, move to FBS, and hoping for a good 1st year of Marion. I doubt they will have the funda to officially start phase 2 before 2027

Some snippets from the Reddit page.
    - seems that most student disapprove the new athletic fees. He also sort of admits to some of his previous lies including no conference showing real interest in adding them, and he is now giving updated timeline for “stadium”.

I agree. There is no true analogy to what is happening now. The college football world seems to be evolving so fast the past 1-2 years.
I just posted it since it was something posted on YouTube related to this subject.

you are right a few years was wrong. I don’t know about what was happening 30 years ago. But I was referring to their athletic dept woes in 2003 - 2006 (which is around 20 years so maybe you were referring to then as well). But they gambled on theirselves then and it worked out. Hopefully it does again. We do hope they succeed and that we continue our rivalry. I hope they do find a home within the PAC or MW. I and many other just voice our concerns and many including myself do not fully trust Dr Wood who seems to always make it about him self and would respond and argue with random people in X.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
it won’t. Many schools including sac and our own school/UCD made it clear that athletic funding will be completely separate from general funding. So if sac did happen to fail, they still have their new student athletic fees to fall back to, but would have to trim cost down such as cutting football completely along with some other programs. Many state CA schools are already trimming their athletic costs/programs this year. Sac almost cut football a few years ago but were able to make it work and are now gambling big. We will see if it pays out. “FBS or bust”
  • UC Davis, Sac State to share new $450M football stadium in West Sacramento
I could see them adding a larger 2nd deck ~7k on the east side of UCD Health stadium, then adding a smaller 2nd deck/luxury section of ~2.5k seats with a lounge/food area and luxury boxes/press box above that on west side. Then they will fill one end zone(north) with seats and leave the south with grass. This will give capacity around 22k and they can add seats to other endzone in future if necessary. I see a total build out of being closer to 25-27k. Our own AD mentioned that the previous 30k was the old number so I doubt we will do that especially since there is no min capacity anymore.
The luxury section and boxes is what will bring in $
I can also dream of them putting a canvas partial roof for shade but I doubt that.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
My concern is that Dr. wood is doing this to boost his image with goal of jumping ship to a bigger school in a few years and then leave the sac state athletic dept in debt.
He always makes every announcement about him and puts himself front and center when it is the job of others such as the AD.
