• Post-Season for the Big West
The fans over on the Big West Boards are following the transfer portal and, as of today, there are 44 players from BW teams who have entered the portal. LB and Fullerton have been hit the hardest. Both of those teams have 10 players in the portal. Riverside was looking like they had the players in place to be one of the top teams in the BW next season after a very good year this year but some of their best players have entered the portal.

Jamaal Unuakhalu has entered the portal. That makes 3 Aggies in the portal. Looks like next season will be a total rebuild.
  • Post-Season for the Big West
This was a really good basketball game. Myles Che was outstanding also and he's only a sophomore. Irvine and San Diego were definitely the best of the Big West this year.

I'm not sure but we are losing 6 players to graduation: TY Johnson, Leo DeBruhl, Niko Rocak, Pablo Tamba, Francesco Borra and Lucas Prongos. So if Mani and Sangster do not return, that's would be 8 possible open spots. We do have Jalen Stokes and Chase Rawlins coming in as true freshmen.

I think Les has to hit the portal hard. We have a lot of shoes to fill and we don't have size.
  • 2025 MBB Recruiting and Transfers
I'm not surprised that Jac Mani and Derek Sangster have entered the portal.

Mani came here as a highly regarded HS recruit but he was injured much of the time. He was finally available at the start of conference play this year but only saw action in 10 games for a total of 55 minutes. He was praised early on by Les as having the potential to become and outstanding big man for the Ags. He has a beautiful 3 point shot but never showed the physicality and ability to defend in the interior.

Sangster is a bit of a mystery. He was a highly sought after HS recruit and signed with Princeton. I was expecting him to play a major role this year but he seldom saw any action at all. He played in 8 games for a total of 33 minutes. He did not look "comfortable" in the few minutes that I saw him play.

Carl Daugherty Jr and Nils Cooper were the two transfers that worked out very well for us this year and should be even better next year. Jamaal Unuakhalu began seeing action late in the season and showed promise. He has good length, defends well and appears to have an ability to score inside. I expect we'll see more of him next year.

Curiously, Sione Losé is being listed as "Offered" on verbalcommits.com . That's either a mistake or maybe he wasn't on scholarship...??
  • Ag’s tie d1 run record
The Ags went to Hawaii and got swept in 3 games: 7-2, 16-0 and 2-1. Hawaii has an amazing baseball facility and had 4589 fans at the first game, 3981 at game 2 and 3255 at game 3 on Monday.

It will depend on the facts of the firing, but somebody won't care...AggieFinn

    That's for sure...

Then the women's team could hire someone from this message board since we're all experts here.yolohw

 I don't come cheap though!
  • WBB: Looking Ahead - 2025-26 Roster
Do the Aggies have any more scholarships to offer? Do you think that the coaches be looking at the transfer portal this year?
  • 2025 MBB Recruiting and Transfers
Robby Beasley would be a nice addition to the Aggies.
  • 2025 MBB Recruiting and Transfers
The MBB transfer portal officially opens on Monday, March 24th and will be open for 30 days. I expect we will see a ton of players enter the portal and I would imagine that Les and his staff will be actively looking for possible transfers for the 2025-26 season.

These are excellently written summaries, TR67. You should be writing for the Athletics Department!

  • UC Davis Athletic Director Rocko DeLuca signs five-year contract extension
In the classroom, student-athlete academic success has risen under DeLuca's leadership, with the department recording a 93% Graduation Success Rate (GSR) in 2024, ranking among the top 10 nationally and establishing a program record. On the fields and courts of competition, UC Davis teams have captured 12 conference championships since his elevation to director of athletics in 2021, with 25 individual Aggies winning conference titles.

Financial growth and stewardship have also been hallmarks of DeLuca's leadership since his arrival in Davis in 2016. Ticket sales have increased by 108%, contributing to a 150% rise in football revenue, while Olympic sports have seen a 140% revenue boost. Annual fundraising has consistently exceeded goals, leading to the department's budget growth to $50 million in fiscal year 2024. These financial gains have supported significant investments in student-athlete services and facilities, including the $52 million Edwards Family Athletics Center, a $5 million addition of lights to Aggie Soccer and Dobbins Baseball Stadium, a $3.2 million Aquatics Team Center, and upgrades to softball, baseball and beach volleyball venues.
