  • Bob Dunning Makes His Case for UCD to Move to FBS
It’s not attendance, it’s the slice of the TV money. Which is why I don’t think the MWC expands- more forks eating out of the same pie. Since the MWC remained intact, for know, after the Big 12 moves, I expect they are standing pat for the time being.

the top less photo session has a history of itself and was a bit part of this investigation.

Here is a detailed story. Came from investigation into sexual misconduct with Washington, and emails were sent to Bruce Allen who was club president at the time

If there was a bright side, he was much better when he came back into the game. He got into that RPO mode, and looked decisive and accurate. Hope it carries over

sounds like there were many more covering different subjects. Are they checking player emails? Some might not be the most enlightened.

nice to see Hawkins honored. He was a key in changing the direction of the program. He wasn’t at football game the next night; glad he was able to attend the induction

I don’t know how much the committee looks at bad losses and good wins; I figure they are taking the top four BSC teams to the 24 team bracket. Sac is undefeated and has Montana coming up. Besides us and NAU (home),the rest of their schedule is weak. Game with us is big. The others ahead (MSU, EWU, Montana) have tougher schedules.
  • Week 6: UC Davis @ Idaho State
In 2019, first year with 24 teams, Big Sky had 4 teams in with byes. All were 9-3. The Montana’s had 2 conference losses. So I don’t think running the table is a must. I’d be thrilled with a 4-1 record.

Look at the OOC games for the MWC. USC and Penn St ain’t coming to their stadiums! Maybe Hawaii, but nobody else (Cal did play at Reno)

We’d join the MWC and our first home game would be Southern Utah! New attendance record!!

That final three game stretch is looking pretty daunting (not to overlook the next two). 2 out of three might be required.

Also, the ‘we draw 100000 to Picnic Day’ argument: if we charged $40 to attend 6 picnic days over 3 months, how many would we draw?
  • Bob Dunning Makes His Case for UCD to Move to FBS
Big 12 just added 4 teams to get to 12, none from the MWC. There are three openings in the AAC but nobody is leaving MWC for that. If the MWC was searching, it was to potentially fill in for departing teams, NOT to add to their current roster. Just a non-starter.

you don’t think the greater Davis-Dixon metroplex would come out in droves for a Friday night 8:00 kickoff with New Mexico? MWC teams don’t HOST USC or Penn State. San Jose is playing in a stadium with one side of the stadium closed to fans and STILL don’t fill.

I imagine the MWC stopped looking when the Big 12 filled their two openings with teams outside the MWC.

I just remember South Alabama coming in 10 years ago ready to take the FBS by storm. They rarely get 20k in football crazy Mobile. I think we’d have a similar fate in the MWC, especially if we’re filling spots vacated by Boise, San Diego, etc (filled by other Big Sky teams or New Mexico State!)

The Sac box score was interesting about midway through game. They had about 31 points and plenty of yards, but something like 10 first downs. Then you look at individual stats and the column of ‘long play’ and you see different guys with 53, 33, 20,19; pass plays of 41, 26, 22.

    Lots of big plays
  • Week 6: UC Davis @ Idaho State
We don’t blitz often but they killed us on a couple today. The Conner play came on a blitz that left us exposed. They ran a screen for a big gain on another that led to the FG.

The 70 yard toss and run, followed by an INT (TD after short drive) really put us in a hole. That being said, we were down 17-3 1:30 left in half, and about to receive 2nd half kickoff. Mistakes put us in 4th and 17 hole. And they score after failed fourth. Game, set, match

Sac seems to have this two headed QB monster rolling, 31-7 at half

I thought the runner was down. But that could have been a chance to turn things around.
  • Week 6: UC Davis @ Idaho State
I believe we were 3-15 for 37 yards in the first half. Might have the attempts off, but pretty sure on completions and yards. In comparison we were lights out in the 2nd!
  • Week 6: UC Davis @ Idaho State
As they say, only lose this game once. In other words, put it behind you, roll the next two and get ready for a furious final three games.

Just a disaster from the get go. They didn’t score off roughing the kicker, but that cost us at least 25 yards of field position- seemed we started inside our 10 all day. Never got any better. Gilliam is a stud

unfortunately, that's an era where onside kicks were much more successful than now. we're kinda screwed.
