    reminds me of the NCLS!!
  • Week 11: UC Davis @ Eastern Washington
Gilliam is a very good receiver, as is Thomas.

current Weather Underground forecast shows clear skies for Saturday. Temperature 'peaks' at 39 at game time. 34 at 5:00 which should be about midway through the 4th quarter! on the plus side, there is no wind forecast.

    that's cold.

I think a real key to this game is keeping it close in the first half. Defense has shown the ability to make half time adjustments and shut things down (ISU, Montana), but these guys are a level above that. Can’t try to play catch-up. Getting an early turnover and capitalizing on it would be HUGE

we have a +12 in turnovers this year, both a credit to the defense for takeaways and the offense for holding onto the ball. have to keep that going this week. i can see them playing it a bit more conservative to limit the risk of turnovers.

here is an article in Yahoo Sports that is quite a difference in our past Novembers

    FCS Game of the Week

that's the secret! downside, is that your computer than forgets your login information for many sites (like this one), at least on my MAC
  • Week 11: UC Davis @ Eastern Washington
ask the Big Sky commissioner. probably big up in Big Sky country. its the same reason the Idaho game was played at 4:00 in September.
  • MBB 11/6: San Francisco @ UCD
Bu the time I turned on the radio broadcast we were down something like 24-6 about midway through the first. I think Marsh used the word ‘discombobulated ‘. On the ‘plus’ side, Silar and TJ were a combined 3-18, both with several turnovers. I think they’ve shown that they are MUCH better than that. Gonsalez looks like a real player. Others seemed shell shocked. Healthy John will help. HOPEFULLY, one of those disasteric starts against a good team that snowballed. We stunk it up against USF last year, although battled back to make the score look decent. That was 10 games in. Roster is pretty similar to the one we finished the season with; I’m thinking they’ll bounce back

I don’t think we have a choice about ROOTS start times. Part of the Big Sky package. They assign the kickoff times

if we were to lose, then alot would come down to the Idaho St - Weber game the following week (assuming we take care of business vs Sac). An ISU win, knocks Weber to 2 BSC losses. A Weber win, and we might be behind EWU and Weber in the seeding since they both would have top 10 (5) wins.
  • Week 11: UC Davis @ Eastern Washington
we'll have to be really clever to come up with some looks to confuse his looks on the short passes, and be very sure tacklers. that was something we didn't go too well against NAU. we have numerous times where we had the QB and/or back for 2-3 yard losses, only to let them get away for decent gains. I think Porter's big run followed a near 10-yard sack.

couldn’t agree more. Turnovers or penalties or special team mistake could turn this into the Montana first half all over.
  • Week 11: UC Davis @ Eastern Washington
I thought run defense vs Poly was pretty good after the first drive. No long runs. I think yards per carry was good. Vs NAU, they basically ran the wildcat which gives them a numbers advantage. They’ve been getting a lot a rush yards with it; again, we didn’t give up large chunks. EWU has a good rush game coupled with solid pass, do that’s really going to test us
  • Week 10: Northern Arizona @ UC Davis
I think the noon start vs Sac is ROOTS TV thing, as was the early (4:00) kickoff for Idaho
  • Week 10: Big Sky
I think we wanted ISU to win, if they could comeback to beat Weber.
  • Week 10: Northern Arizona @ UC Davis
I like 4:00 for October and November. Works for locals and out of towners. I was surprised at the turnout, not just the students. Grass on the north end was sparse, not bad in the south. West side was relatively full but they’ve been offering discounts lately.

First quarter offense was as good as it gets. 200 yards, 3 TD. Jake was 10-11. And that was into the wind. Penalties and that INT (that could have been a TD; I think wind pushed it) stalled us in the second. Defense was solid in the second half against a one-dimensional attack. Special teams were solid ( punts into the wind were pretty effective even though yardage looks below average)

On to Cheney. That’s gonna be a tough one.

Does it say when the polls close?
  • Yet Another Poll...Coach of the Year (Hawk)
Currently leading by a bit. Hawk and Teevens at Princeton should be the top two

catching up. need more votes to surprise the leader. how can the NDSU guy be coach of the year? they are loaded every year!
  • Yet Another Poll...Coach of the Year (Hawk)
I don’t think he’ll pass the NDSU coach; fan base is VERY active
