It may be a domino effect when key transfers commit. It sounds like a record number.

CA Forever, I have a slightly different take on our QB situation. Appreciate all of our players. HR size must now be a concern, scrambling QBs Tarkenton (190), Flutie (181), and Young (216) much bigger.

Miles Hastings is young, a redshirt freshman. Has 4-5 starts under his belt? HR had a year at JC, 3 seasons, probably 20 starts. I don't think Moroski, O'Brien or Biggs were pressed into playoff action as redshirt freshmen w a young OC. Tough spot for someone so green, MH showed promise. If HR takes a lot of snaps, it limits reps for Faulk and Dixon. Glad I don't have to decide. Sam Young and Speckman will have add insight.

What's the roster limit? We have a huge RFrosh group, as big as Hawks first group.

    15 - Freshmen
    36 - Redshirt Freshmen*
    23 - Sophs
    17 - Juniors
    <91>
    13 - Seniors / Grads

I count at least 17 Redshirt Frosh as contributing. Not sure how many of the 91 are walk on, 5-10? I'm OK w key signees.

Wow, Coach Deion Sanders shaking up the college football world. Previously, he signed his highly regarded QB son. Now...

ESPN: "Cornerback Travis Hunter, the No. 2-ranked recruit in the country, flipped his commitment from Florida State to Jackson State on Wednesday to become the first five-star high school football prospect to sign with an FCS team since ESPN started its rankings in 2006."

Hunter partly wants to partake in the rich history if HBCUs.

I'm sure we have it figured out, just not communicating our intentions or possibly strategy.

Could there be a logjam as I think I read over 1,000 football players entered the transfer portal.

Maybe gonna load up on Juco and late signers? An active press could help.
  • New HC is Tommy Nicholson
Blue referral? Played AAA, two time Sac State assistant.

I took a quick look last night - Montana and MSU have 10-11 commits, Sac State 7... lower numbers than normal.

Don't we graduate about a dozen players?

Is it possible w the extra year, and grad transfers... we don't have many schollies available?

Is Hawkins doing in home visits?

Dr. Mike cheered me up knowing Lance Babbs is coming back at WR. That's big. We've got LL at RB and several studs at TE.

We've got some young guns to try at QB, and who knows, maybe we get a JC stud transfer or drop down. (More JM than Laughrea.)

Will we gave Whelan one more year?

Coach Sochor used to say your spot is here, your greatness is here, something like that. Dozens of Aggies have made the pros, even Coach Gould said if you're good, they find you. Would hate to see Perryman buried on a depth chart at Fresno or New Mexico State.

Jordan Allen is the other young man who left early and now at Webber State, but recorded no receptions last year as he converted from edge rusher to TE.

"Once a four-star junior college edge rusher out of Northern California, Allen initially went to UC Davis but redshirted in 2016. He then transferred to City College of San Francisco and played nine games in 2017 before transferring to the Vols

"Allen played outside linebacker for Tennessee football in 2018 and sat out in 2019 due to injury before switching over to tight end this past offseason. He announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Twitter." -> Weber State

Joshua Kelley succeeded, so did the DB who went via SFCC to Washington State? (Gould signee.)

Beyond that, our edge rusher who redshirted under Gould eventually transferred to Tennessee and saw little action.

Unless someone is a difference maker... does an FBS coach want to make that commitment for a one and done?
