How many Wolfpack alums there? Didn't he take them to DI 30 years earlier, and help build a new stadium?

I believe he is credited w creating The Pistol offense.

His passion wasn't chicken dinners or money (AD).

TCU 5-7 this year, 6 close losses.

Boom! 6'5", 240#s*** ... excellent at blocking & receiving... one hand grab 45 seconds into this video. And a long snapper.

Not looking for overemphasis, but it was nice to see the Sac QB just tuck it and go, throw on the run, roll out.

I read somewhere that QBs are injured more standing in the pocket, not running.

Edit: we may also have 2 Frosh QBs competing for the job.

No insider insight on our current QBs?

    And two new QB signees.

PWO offers from Virginia Tech & Wyoming.

I watched his senior highlight tape, and he had 4-5 20 yard runs, wouldn't avoid contact. He moves pretty decent for a big guy. Can throw it against his body with strength, on the run, can tear drop it in, and even the shovel pass flip. Threw it 55 yards for a game winning TD w 4 seconds remaining against his body, not 100% planted.

Not sure of the comp level. 4.3 GPA.

My mistake, I just checked a few articles and saw no details. I *think* the AD said they'll honor the contract, but likely no athletic gear monies, TV / radio, etc.

I watched most of the presser. He did let out that being responsible for 100 18-22 year olds isn't easy ... and they make dumb choices.

He also mentioned stress, and not enjoying the Rose Bowl.

Speaking of championship games, did Sochor enjoy McAllen, Texas? He was interviewed at halftime, we were down, and he was calm.

So let me get this straight ... Coach Pete is going to make somewhere between $3-5 Million per year (til 2023) while he decides what to do the next 10-15 years?

Edit: I didn't see any contract details.
  • Petersen steps down at UW
Yes. Better weather. Close to family & the Wine Country. Consultant like Sam Young?

He could also teach Leadership classes to undergrads, GSM, and corporations in the Silicon Valley.

If he hasn't taken a long break in 30 years ...

Presser, sounds like he may want to work in "leadership / team building" ... undefined.

    This year's team was 7-5.

Four losses by 6 points or less.

The 'big' loss was at Stanford by 10 points.

He had a job where he commuted by boat, in shorts ... he's had a long run.

Head coaches Choat & Hauck want to break up the Big Sky.

They were whining about the size of the BS. So its not cookie cutter conference. The BS getting 3-4 bids seems to answer their biggest complaint.

Bozeman Daily Chronicle: Number of teams leaves Big Sky with uncertain future

Long article. Choat thinks more teams would make the playoffs with a smaller conference, but the Big Sky gets a lot of entrants.

"Wistrcill said he’s often asked about the status of affiliate members like Cal Poly and UC Davis, both of which are only in the Big Sky in football. He’s asked if they would either be added as full-time members or if they would be pushed out of the conference."

The next logical step? Fill what we have, consistently, and learn how to handle that - i.e., concessions (a line 25 or more deep?), etc. The large new portable water stations were nice.

My guess is Sat night games fit students schedules better, but our season ticket base appears to have aged, and BS schools may prefer the earlier start?

Adding some modest architectural pieces might help fan experience - unobtrusive sun shades?

Long term, I thought a deck over the visitors side was considered.

[Edit.] Wow, Fresno from 12-2 to 4-8. San Jose finishes 5-7 -- a 4 win improvement.

Cal picks up 2 wins with QB Garbers, over Ford & UCLA, now 7-5.
