  • Week 10: Games to Check Out
The QB injury could massively impact Sac's season.

I thought our D and special teams played well against Weber. Josh Davis rambled, 177 yards rushing.
  • WEEK 8: AGGIES @ THUNDERBIRDS
    Demario Warren HC Record.

    2016 - 6-5, 5-3
    2017 - 9-3, 7-1* (playoffs)
    2018 - 1-10, 1-7
    2019 - 2-8, 1-5 (partial season)
    ----------------------------
    Total: 18-26, 14-16

    Last 2 years tough.
  • Week 11, UC Davis at PSU
    Rain, on Oregon? s/

Just one game at a time. Would be nice to see #2 & #3 QB get time.
  • Sac State football back?
FCS: Postseason Implications Are Huge For No. 3 Weber State At No. 6 Sac State

"Whoever wins between Weber and Sac State is in the driver's seat to round out those Top 4 seeds.

"That's especially true for the Hornets, who finish the season against three unranked foes: at Northern Arizona, at Idaho and against UC Davis."

    Two role players.

Heart over height: Two 5’4 receivers make their mark at Sac State

  • Week 10: The Bye
PSU hoping for a miracle donor so they can partner w / a downtown high school planning a major campus upgrade. To expand from a HS field to a joint HS- PSU stadium would cost ... $65 Million.
  • Week 10: The Bye
Out of the gate we were down 2 top linebackers, but I believe most schools don't highlight that for various understandable reasons.

A potential #3 RB also out for the year injured.
  • Week 10: The Bye
    Some numbers.

    Offense - PPG / YPG

    2016 - 28.18, 393.5 (Coach Gould)
    2017 - 33.64, 484.7 (Coach Hawkins, Yr 1)
    2018 - 39.69, 488.9
    2019 - 29.44, 424.6

    Defense - Pts Allowed, Sacks

    2016 - 37.09, 16
    2017 - 32.18, 18
    2018 - 27.38, 16
    2019 - 30.00, 11 (4 non-Lehigh)

Cursory review of penalties showed a 59-61 YPG average under Hawkins, and 53.55 YPG Gould's last year. Seems a non factor.
  • Week 10: The Bye
Hopefully. Having Kraft and Thomas redshirt would be a bonus. We should be vastly deeper at LB, but then we lose FIVE D and 2 O linemen.

Given our rocky season, few reps for QB#2 and #3. That's the wildcard. A mobile QB adds multiple options.

San Jose State no slouch next year.
  • Week 10: The Bye
Get some rest. Recoup. Beat Portland.

The following 2 games are a whole different ballgame. Hopefully we can nab one of the two. No understatement that we need to improve our offensive play calling.

Did Sun Tzu ever have to go to war when actually depleted?
  • Week 9: Weber State @ UC Davis
I hope Jaylin White is OK!

Jaspir Friis is the Kal redshirt frosh offensive lineman who is transfering.

Listed at 6'7" and between 315 and 340 pounds. He was considered an elite offensive lineman in Germany. Half German, half Brazil. Thought he was higher on the depth chart, and then dropped?

If he can play, and if we need immediate help ...
  • Week 9: Weber State @ UC Davis
Do we know of any troubles on the O line? I know Redshirt Frosh Jordan Ford saw time.
  • Week 9: Weber State @ UC Davis
    Our schedule next year?

Nevada & San Jose State away, both 4-4 (Spartans will want payback)
At Weber, thank goodness their DL graduates.
    Three open dates.
  • Sac State football back?
Hornet Stadium, at 22,000, could be a sellout for the Causeway Classic. The stands make me squirly.

Kal OC Baldwin makes $570,000 plus bennies. Could Taylor pass up $600,000? Could be a big drop off when his 5th yr senior QB graduates.
  • Week 9: Weber State @ UC Davis
347 - Av Yds per Game Weber allows
    204 - Yards we gained

I believe Kraft has played under 5 games, so maybe its an option for noth TT and Kraft to redshirt?

Have to win 2 of 3 to reach .500. The Causeway Classic could be epic, and those metal stands freak me out when they only have 10,000 there!
  • Sac State football back?
He could be a candidate to replace the OC at Kal.
  • Sac State football back?
Sac rolling, only loses to FBS teams.
  • Week 9: Weber State @ UC Davis
Pretend. Two less turnovers, and no keeper for a 21 yd gain on the fake punt. Defense gets more recoup time, and offense has more reps.

Three big changes with no physicality requirement. Closer game, but I still think our O game plan comes up short. We only started moving the ball when they went to a 4 man front.

Shout out to DL Bryce Rogers for 11 tackles, 9 solo, and 1 Sack! DB Jordan Perryman had 9 tackles, 8 solo! Youngsters Eaton and Venable 5 each, and transfer LBs Hansen and Scharetg also chipped in.
  • Week 9: Weber State @ UC Davis
Have any insiders heard how Facey performed in practice?
  • Week 9: Weber State @ UC Davis
It's possible we sacrificed depth at RB to load up at other positions. I did a quickie comparison vs our opponent a week or 2 back which showed we had 4 more players at TE, WR, and QB. Unfortunate TT and Facey injured.

Adding TT might have helped, but Weber is beastly. Don't forget: 3 turnovers.

Many of your thoughts, fly sweeps, deep passes, likely impossible with a dominant defensive front. Maybe more quick slants, screens, dinks to the TE, and a hurry up tempo might help.

I do agree Crawford passing is no longer a surprise. Outside of our fake punt last week, where is our deception. Weber even upped us there with the Philly Surprise by a 3rd string QB & other plays. Where is our Philly or Hide the Midget trickery?

Buckle up. Portland State no slouch.
