  • Week 6: UC Davis @ North Dakota
Sac and Cal Poly appear to have their mojo on.
  • 2019 BATTLE FOR THE GOLDEN HORSESHOE
Any idea what happened to our run game? We have size and depth on the line, and 2 solid backs. Too predictable?
  • Week 6: UC Davis @ North Dakota
Agreed. Replacing Maier will be key. A QB like Rodriguez should open up running / mobility options, and possibly a more consistent deep threat. I'm puzzled why we don't send speedster Harrell deep.

Gould got a late start (Tumey), had one great recruiting year, but most gone within 2 yrs. Hawkins brought in over 30 players his first year, dramatically changed the roster in 2 years. It was more his team with some key Gould recruits (Doss, Anesi, Parenteau). Imagine having Aaron Moore and Montgomery back!!

We're one interception away from 3-3 and still in the playoff hunt. Interceptions and penalties have hurt us badly, we could be 4-2. Not blaming Jake, could be an incorrect route run, the WR turned the wrong way, etc.

Young guys coming on, Orlando Ornelias, Babbs, Mouisett to name a few. Go Ags!

Since we have no fullback, did we slim him down, and then assign him that job?

I liked Tehran at 235 pounds! Punishing & fast.
  • Keelan Doss: Raider Watch
Well, the Raiders know what the play clock is.

Doss catches the first pass of the game!

What a 180 degree change. Just a few weeks ago they were overloaded at WR ... lead dog self destructed, can't recall what happened to all the other guys.

RB and LB. Looks like he will play RB for us. (He copied in Speckman.)

Edit: Next year we'll have to replace Tehran Thomas.

Big dropoff in points per game, from almost 40 points per game (2018) to 27 PPG, part of that could be 2 early tough opponents. We've also gone from from an average of .77 interceptions a game (2018), to 1.5 per game (2019). Even a couple less picks, another win.

Opponents are scoring 31 PPG in 2019, up a little from 2018 (27.4). It doesn't look like we're getting pressure on the QB, defense doing an admirable job missing 2 key LBs. They have 3 years of film on us now.

San Jose, Sac, and Cal Poly all look solid. (Cal Poly #1 WR JJ Kiosk was in our backyard, and we the Gould staff didn't recruit him.)

Have a contingent of high school coaches ever made such an impact on a college team?

    Congrats young man.

Have a solid season, salvage recruiting. Give Rodriguez and others some snaps. Compete for the Big Sky title. Aggie Band-uh there would help, no doubt.
  • Week 6: UC Davis @ North Dakota
Agree. We've become predictable. Handoff for no gain, pass behind the line for no gain, then desperation and they tee off. The CC WR pass is no longer a surprise as of last year.

What happened to the TE over the middle, short dinks over the D line, going deep on 2nd and 2?

Great catch by Babb, true freshman LB Mouisett also contributed again. We had 2 tall WRs (6'6"?) we let go. Is Peacock playing due to injuries, or belief he'll bring QB heat?

And I REALLY don't understand short field kickoffs.
  • Week 6: UC Davis @ North Dakota
FWIW, Maier threw 10 picks last year in 13 games.

This year, 9 picks in 6 games.

Rushing, we averaged about 166 YPG last year, about 95 YPG this year.
  • Week 6: UC Davis @ North Dakota
Who brings the firey pep talk? We could fly in Coach Foster every week. Solid second half, another 'unintended lesson'.

Edit: another huge game for Eaton, 9 tackles. Did Venable go out? He played, has size, no tackles. Unusual for him, he's been productive. DE Cade Peacock played, his first action this year. Do we possibly have injuries on the D line we don't know about?
  • Week 6: UC Davis @ North Dakota
    Stats of note.

    3 Interceptions. Back breakers.
    4 of 15 on 3rd down.
    81 yards rushing.
    8 penalties.
9 fewer TOP minutes (turnovers, 4 of 15).

The dogs were there in the 2nd half. Why?
