I thought Hawkins was the rah rah guy, but recently I've felt he is more like the ambassador / CEO... which is fine if it works.

Plough, Hawk and Speckman mistake #1 was thinking we could run 85% of the time, and predictable plays. Mistake #2 was running 80% of those plays thru one average RB. Mistake #3 was adjusting far too late.

Vast improvement in our Off schemes. I sat with HS coaches who predicted our plays. Imagine where we would have been w/o ManZan.

Offense - goes from D- to a B/B+. Need run game and clean up spotty play calling / adjust quicker / 2 minute offense / put teams away when up.

Defense - Coach Tucker had to know we were thin to bring in so many JC recruits. Just need talent and deveopment, or new scheme that gives our kids a chance to succeed?

Landing JM was huge, so the ability to identify and land him is important. The offensive tempo and passing scheme many believe is a better approach. The last 3 yrs of Coach Gould we totaled 5 DI wins, so we have already matched that. We need the D and ST to step up.

We are winning the games we should win. I'd hope with M & D to have at least 1 'upset'. I thought we started w the wrong O gameplan w NAU, and adjusted too late. Surprised this Sat, given the hype. Growing pains. Next year will probably be tougher w a Montana, and PSU and SLO back.
