I've found we landed a 3 star LB commit. They haven't quite made a social media post about it though so when they do I will put it up. Senior season had 100+ tackles, 20+ tackles for loss.

Wow I just got around to reading this article. Definitely not a good look for McCaffrey or UNC. Sounds like the tiniest bit of power went straight to his head.

Absolutely agree. There are so many factors that go into the recruiting these kids out of high school. You can't look at a singular factor and think say that kid is gonna be a stud or not.

When you're on his profile, on the right hand side click recruiting profile. He was rated a 3 star coming out of high school.

Edit: I'm also gonna say that I really don't put much stock into the star rankings. There are guys at the top of their game in the NFL that were 2 stars and there are 4 star guys that bust in college. I only include the information because it's there, not because it's a great indicator of who is going to be good for us.

Nope it's all pretty public information. I find most of my recruiting news on the website 247 and then on twitter like movie said. It's just a matter of using the right search words to find the information you want.

He would already be one of the beefier OL on our roster. We don't have too many guys in the 300+ range. His coach also stated that he was an "All-American" but I wasn't able to find any kind of news release to corroborate that. I was able to find that he made 1st team all-state as a freshman. He didn't have much online presence so I don't know what kind of offers he had, but seems like it could be a good pick up for us.

We landed a JC OL transfer in Ernesto Nava. He was named 1st team all state for the California Community College Athletic Association.

Castles was only a sophomore this last season so he still has plenty of time left. It's not even that there are big shoes to fill on the offense this upcoming season... They have to find the shoes in general. The inconsistencies throughout the season were more than frustrating. Injuries happen and some guys who had to step in are young, but man were there stretches where we just looked straight up bad. We need improvement just about everywhere on offense.

Like I said, I'm willing to see what the kid brings to the table come time of the season. I doubt the coaching staff would go after transfers they don't think even have a shot of improving the program. For what it's worth, Crump had an offer from EWU coming out of high school. I may not like their program, but they have a recent history of identifying good WRs (although it does help when you have Barriere throwing the ball).

I'm willing to withhold judgement until I see him on the field. Sometimes players just don't mesh well with a program. McCallen Castles didn't really do anything at Cal before stepping in as a starting TE for us.

Frankly, I just don't think you're gonna see impact guys at the FBS level transfer down. The financial factor is in play now. We just got to hope that we find some hidden gems.
